geoffreak
Back in RSC there was a thing called fatigue. Yes everyone knows what I am talking about. Fatigue made it difficult for autoers but also for the average player. People had to type in a certain combination of letters and numbers to "wake up". This stopped the autoing community right? WRONG! Why not make a login pin? this one will be forced on the player so when they first login, they will enter their choosen number twice (they can't login until they set one). For the next week, it will remind them that they have a login code pending. after a week, the login code will become active and because it will be randomized (but legible) fonts used, and because of the numbers random locations, the autoers will be knocked out for weeks to come. autoers read fonts so this login pin must have MANY fonts used. if the bot sets a pin it will login the first time but if it logs out, it will not be able to log back in within a week. this will force the autoing community out of business for some time so jagex can work on its anti autoing program :D post any suggestions or comments you have 8) First D-Drop on 7/2/07! carrot1962
the way it is going it might just definately be an option! Autoers are taking over :x
shade_bandyt
this wont really affect autoers at all. all it requires is that the person logs in manually, which they do anyway, then the autoer takes over to actually do the task. this wont do anything to stop autoers. the macros dont log in the char or store the password (only a fool would put that in their autoer program), and once the account is logged in, they cant go about mining, woodcutting, fishing or whatever. frogmite
you have no idea, the autoer could just log in get past your pin or w.e then let the autoer run.. ;\
Bubsa
^ Yes. Exactly. If you're using a guildminer, or any script for that matter, it's unlikely you'll get logged out anyway, so a cheater would just log in manually and then go. Besides, there's already currently existing technology (OCR's) that would crack this problem. In all failing, a program like Coldfeet could be made again. liek powing pongy pongy pongy. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

dgd1788
this will be great for the next version of runescape although Runescape is not browser-based
kgbcowboy
this will be great for the next version of runescape although Runescape is not browser-based Runescape is browser based you play it from your internet browser. I dont think that this code will work and bringing back fatigue would be horrible i think thats why jagex scrapped it in the end. So far the only way to get auto-ers is to report them, even if reporting them may do very little

Coldfeet already killed fatigue. Why do you think they stopped it in the first place? Sure, it was the major uproar from players but it also had something to do with the fact that it didn't work for crap.
imaerehw14
Well there was fatigue in RSC, hmm, how well did that work out? and like they said, you have to log in, then run the program. it wouldnt matter if there was a log in pin or not. geoffreak
but, if the bot logged out for some reason (mime, mod, etc.) then the player controlling the bot would have to be there to log it back in otherwise the bot will be stuck offline this is to create an inconvienience(sp?) for autoers and discourage some from autoing First D-Drop on 7/2/07! eliisgood
Not a bad idea, but it has some flaws.....I think that a random event should be that a guy pops up beside you (not in the wilderness) and you have to enter in some digits that he has printed on the screen; true, this wouldn't stop all of the autoersm, but it would help quite a bit more than the random events they have now.....
