stevepole
how hard are they to install? would an internal harddrive be better then a extarnal?
wahoo
err, you mean as hard as external right? As far as i know, you wouldn't really want an external one unless you plan to store 1tb+. Internal ones, let's see, they're about as difficult as the manual says :S

wahoo
Well, for installing an internal one, having an external one of some kind would be handy. Especially if drivers are required to be installed for it to operate.
Mercifull
If its a SATA drive then its easy. Simply plug it directly into your motherboard. Otherwise you'll have to chain up your harddrives with an ide cable. Still pretty easy tho and not much setup required. External HDD's are much easier to setup but are a lot more expensive. stevepole
after you install the internal harddrives do they need any setup? or are they like ram were you pop it in and your ready to go.
Stuart_G
Probably no set up because windows should recognize it and install drivers and such.
Cruiser
Plug it in and go. No setup needed unless you're doing something more advanced (sounds like you aren't :P). Windows should detect it if it's installed correctly. If windows doesn't detect it, it's time to start toubleshooting.
Mementh
if you want simple.. go with a usb external.. jsut realize they are not ment to be transported alot.. they are like your computers internal drive and prefer to just sit in one place... but you can move it if you HAD to.. :) The following statement is true. The previous statement is false. 60% of all statistics are made up 90% of the time andrew i love you & want you to have my babys!!! MasterOfThePuppets
I have an external harddrive in a USB 2.0 enclosure. Works like a charm.
