Chaotic Longsword V Rapier

Recommended Posts

Yes this thread again.

So I'll be getting my first chaotic today (along with 80 attack) , and was was just wondering for my stats (in sig) which would be more useful

I will be using it mostly for: Slayer and cannoning blue drags in the resource dungeon if the bot nuke works. I know the rapier is recommended for slayer, but I was unsure as I have relatively low stats so thought the extra accuracy from the longsword could come in handy.

Rapier, but here's added information to explain why.

At your stats, it appears you'll be doing a lot of training in the future, and the rapier fits the bill for. With its stats and speed, as well as being able to train strength as effectively as attack or defense (I got 99's back when whip and dragon scimitar was the thing). The uses don't stop in your future if you plan to do any boss hunting, which the weapon is versatile at.

The blade is flexible when it comes to usability and gives you more options than the longsword, and more options = better. Another plus is that it's one of the few strong primary stab weapons while longsword is another in the long line of slash blades like godswords and whips.

Hope this helps you decide. Hope you enjoy your purchase either way. :)

Rapier. It's better against about 99% of runescape monsters (Graardor, Sara and a few quest bosses are all i can think of where CLS is better) BUT for all of those, the chaotic maul is best anyway.

Plus rapier is by far the best for general training and slayer, and dragons, as they're weak to stab.

I own all chaotics by the way, and regret CLS the most, so i'm not some biased guy with 1 chaotic like you see most of the time.

Yeah I went with rapier. Bandos doesnt even come into it for a long time with my combat stats, so the rapier's superiority with slayer was the key point for me.

Thanks for the help people.

Rapier > monsters weak to stab

Cls > monsters weak to slash

Rapier good when using leech curses on bandy

Chaotic Longsword good when using turm on bandy

THAT IS ALL

(that i know)

Why post this kind of crap when you don't even understand the game?

When i said that, i was implying that you need different things to make exp/gp/h faster.

Using weaknesses and acting on the weaknesses... -_-

Rapier is good on low defence, on things sufficiently weak to stab, but for example also better on waterfiends.

CLS is good on slash weak monsters with high defence only, never low defence. As a result it's only really better on Graardor.

You should never use leech curses on Bandos, but when you do, maul > cls > rapier.
