October 25, 201114 yr Alright so pretty much I'm an idiot, My iPod must have been in my pants cause I just went to put my clothes in the dryer and my iPod fell out. It's an iPod touch and I'm 90% sure it was completely dead before it went in, Is there anything I can do or am I screwed? October 25, 201114 yr Not sure what you mean by "dead" but the only thing you can do is to be sure you let it completely dry before turning it on again. Because IF it still works and it is wet inside it could give short circuit (sp?). http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. October 25, 201114 yr Put it in a bag of rice and close the bag. Let it sit for a few days.To expand on this - the rice is a very effective way to draw out all the moisture. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
October 25, 201114 yr Rice bag as above then in the airing cupboard for a few days. But if its been in the washer on a hot wash with soap and everything then there is a very good chance its dead. October 25, 201114 yr Keep in a rice bag (it has some good reasoning because it absorbs water) and let it sit for at least a few days. Make sure to flip the ipod on different sides to allow all the moisture to be absored through. Don't try to be impatient and use a hair dryer to dry it (contrary to popular belief it doesn't work and its actually harmful) or try to turn it on after a few hours, if anything is wet inside and you run electricity through it , then all your hopes of reviving your Ipod will be gone. Leave it alone for a couple of days in a Zip-Lock bag, and good luck.

October 26, 201114 yr My friend accidentally put his iPod touch through the wash once, it turned out completely fine on its own except the camera on the outside didn't work (which he wasn't too concerned about). As long as you get it dry you'll be good. Come support my max total goal here. Briobe122's 10-step guide to staking:1. Get cleaned2. Vow to never stake ever again!
