thunderg_cid
Now, maybe no one else has noticed this but me. But, it seems, that people are beggining to believe that reporting people is like spying. Maybe no one else has seen this. maybe its only me who seems to have his eye caught by this. but it seems that maybe reporting abuse has been frowned down upon lately. i never once considered that watching someone breaking rules and making sure that you reported them was spying. or of course it could just be the select few that believe doing a sting operation to find those that are cheating is spying. i really have no clue where this post is going, maybe i shouldn't post it at all. if maybe one person responds, then maybe ill have one opinion out there of how its considered "spying". until then, i dont have a clue. dwarfie76
How would anyone else know whether you have reported someone or not? Unless of course you prance about saying "I reported so and so for xyz! Everybody report so and so for xyz!" in which case people are probably simply frowning at you for being a prat. ForsakenMage
I don't consider it spying. For one thing, the game is public. For another thing, you're doing your "civil duty" as a player of the game to report any troubles you see. If we do not report, we simply allow the game to have more bad characters and in the end the game will be ruined (some say it already is) because of the bad community. Gunnit7
heh i got called a reporting noob before by a group of people . I just said im doing my part to make runescape a better place to be in and stuff like that, their response was: "noob"  Pier pressure? I can just see you being threatened by a wharf or jetty because you're a teleporter. Yes, I can see a large wooden wharf uprooting itself from the shore, walking over to you and slapping you in the back of the head for teleporting.

bjbj1991
i personaly think that the report abuse button was disabled sometime in september since i normaly get a reply from them when they read the report. I even had a friend of mine irl log into a newb acount and have him cus me out and talk about scamming as a test and he never got banned (or anything). I just don't like the guys who report people for small things or if they aren't sure if the reported one is actually breaking rules. E.g.: its not always easy to be 100% sure if someone is autoing. Also I hate the fact people report others for "stealing" arrows or saying noob... All_Bogs
The only reporting I frown upon is reporting just for the sake of getting another player in trouble. Which is, sadly, 95% of the offensive language reports.
shade_bandyt
i dont make it a habit to report. i would report for people trying to scam for passwords. i mean its so stupid to try that, and its obvious everybody can see youre a scammer, so they have it coming. i never report for offensive language because it really doesnt offend me and i think its a wuss thnig to report for, but hey... polgana
 I dont think reporting is a bad thing if it is ment to be reported there was a time i was in a room with a friend of mine we were chatting about things and in walks another person and they took what we were saying out of contexted and said they reported us i tried to ask what we said that needed to be reported and they got even more upset and angry about it .. they said they reported us again for harrassment for just asking what we said .. when you walk in a room and get part of a conversation you dont need to report they finally said they thought we where talkin about them and we were not even .. i dont like the report button for that reason think it should change to cussing or autoing things like that not just for thinking i should report you for anything i want ppl are report happy about everything

I have seen this from some of the posts here on TIF and this concerns me :( I only ever Report Peeps if they are Blatantly Breaking the Rules ie. Pass Scamming, Account Selling etc. But then I have seen Peeps reporting other players for something which is just NOT worthy of a Report :( Many thanks to Pup for my new Siggy :)
richpoepaap
I report autoers ( i try to be as sure as possible to make sure they are not pures etc...but autoers) Or offensive language, when it's getting too bad :| Sometimes i wish i was there in the beginning, where swearing apparently wasn't such a big problem... Ah well... :(

manila_rose
I see nothing wrong with reporting. I use it (when the swearing turns to profanity directed at me, people are obviously autotalking or scamming, etc.) with no qualms. However, I do not support groups of people getting together and all reporting this one person just because they are "autoing." Autotalking is very easy to spot generally, but other kinds of autoing can be somewhat hard to detect. It is VERY hard to be 100% sure about something like that. :| I also do not support people reporting other players for silly things like closing doors, not giving something up, giving false information (unless it's intended maliciously), and not selling something you are not interested in selling. I was reported by some moron for not selling him a Red Party Hat. It was in no way my fault, as he had the wrong username. :x Anyway, my two cents on the matter. How...
