Grifolaroo Task?

I've never done them before since I came back from a break from RS. Are they something that is worth doing or should i cancel them? If I should do them, whats the best method to kill them? Equipment and setups? Stats are in sig. Any advice appreciated.

Whether or not they are worth it, I can't give a solid answer on.

Your best bet (and from memory, the only real option) is to mage them. Best spells of course being Arma Storm (but rediculously expensive) or polypore staff (cheap per cast, not great for mage xp but high hitting). As a result you want to be using mage boosting equipment

 

- Virtus > Ahrims > Mystic with void mage in there somewhere

- Arcane Stream neck if you have it

- Barrows gloves if you have

 

All there will b e helpful. As for a full setup I'll leave that to the pros (inb4Q).

 

If you are looking for slayer xp they are decent (184.5xp/kill, so for a task of 200, 36900xp) with mage xp to boot. Of course, there is an efficiency side of this which I can't go into because I don't know the whole deal.

 

The question is

 

Are you more concerned with xp, or with profitability?

i got assigned a meager 77 of them, so unfortunately they are not a very long task. But that can be bad or good, depending on how much much you value slayer points.

 

is the Grifolaroo in any way related to the Kangaroo?

Well im concerned with the slayer experience; profit will come with it down the road. The only problem with what you guys have told me is that I dont have mage gear :/

Use water surge. If you don't have any mage gear, just buy some mystic or something. Oh, and get an arcane stream necklace if you can. They're really really awesome, and seeing as you're only a few dungeoneering levels from getting one, it shouldn't take that long. It's definitely worth it if you ever want to use combat magic.

They are very slow in both kill rate and slayer xp. The only polypore creatures worth doing are Ganodermics, by cannon + pps or soa in the bottom floor of the agility section.

This. The resource dungeon works as well.

 

If you want to do them, mage them as bxp said, pps preferred unless you're fairly rich, then Storm is best. I don't think griforaloos drop very valuable flakes like ganodermics do (and they certainly don't drop flakes), so you may not even profit with a rune-using spell or cannon.

hmm i confused them with the grifolapines earlier, the porcupines of rs. so they don't get assigned in <150 probably, or whatever it is.

Block them, as it will block the whole dungeon in one move. Those tasks I found were slow. Heck 102 Fungal Mage was giving me 120k mage exp, 12k defence exp and 12k slayer exp. That took about an hour.... if not longer and I'm 90 mage. I'd block them and skip any task you can't cannon personally.
