Carl Posted January 5, 2012 Share Posted January 5, 2012 Hi, I'm really interested in doing some Barrows runes while the bonuses are in effect, but I'm afraid I'm completely lost on what I should bring! I'm not too fond of combat anymore, so I don't really have much equipment. I have no Chaotic items. I have no RFD gloves. I don't have a Fire Cape. Cash-wise I have around 23M (Money stuck in a Partyhat, sadly.). On the up-side, I have 99 Prayer & 99 Herblore.. Attack Level: 86Strength Level: 96Defence Level: 80Magic Level: 99Ranged Level: 73Constitution: 89Summoning: 73 Any setup ideas would be very much welcomed; I am a newb at this, as stated already. Thanks in advance! (I have browsed at other guides/threads, but they contain gear and stuff which I can't access! vleademir Posted January 5, 2012 Share Posted January 5, 2012 You have all the right stats to do barrows. What I've been doing recently is using a Polypore staff on every brother and just praying. Bring melee gear for the tunnels. How many pieces of food, what kind of potions (Amount, also please!). If you use melee to kill Karil or Ahrim, use Overload. If you don't have it, Extreme set with vecna skull works. Or a super set at least. Bring 1 prayer potion in case Dharok is the tunnel. Use Ardy cape 3 and Drakan's Medallion if possible. Super fast and free prayer recharge. Fill your inv with food like monkfish, but leave 5 inventory spaces for loot. chenw Posted January 5, 2012 Share Posted January 5, 2012 What I suggested is from experience, some people will suggest Magic Armor, Some will suggest melee armor, some suggest mixture of both, some void. All of their merits, you can call me biased, but generally everyone will agree with me that at low or even light negatives, you will have no issues whatsoever with hitting the brothers, except Ahrim (because he is a mage, so his magic defence is naturally higher due to his higher magic level). Hence why I always advise against wearing magic gear, it provides very limited effect. It all depend on what you have and what you are willing to get. But with a rapier the ardy cape is a natural choice. After reading your post, Quyneax, I managed to get far more runs out of it. But I was falling short on health, which I had to bring Brew + Rocktail to heal.
