[bleep]ed up the meniscus in my knee while running. Got surgery, all good now.

We helped antagonize Mather while you were gone. :P

Some people just antagonise themselves , otherwise I did the job of lurking for the past month or so.

Its good to see that you're okay, Rocco. I was wondering where you were. I second the request of wanting to join a hegemony thread and despite my lack of experience I could have an attempt at making one in 4-7 weeks depending on how things go and such.

I did the job of blowing at EU3, and being confused by the ridiculously bloated D&D rules that all our games are based off now.

Welcome back Rocco, glad to hear you're OK. Will you be able to compete again? Athletic injuries can be a [bleep].

I have got a hegemony game in the works, as I have a HUGE amount of time off in following weeks. I think around 3 months.

Anywho, it's based on the space map with a few minor changes, such as a couple of extra countries. I will be stealing some rules from EU 3.

I could probably complete it for Sunday.

Also if I complete this I may stop running Cursed Planet which I have already considered anyway, I feel the tavern does not need 2 character based games but one character based game (space) and one hegemony.

I will post the basic concept in a thread if people want me to, just so I don't make it and then you guys don't like it.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Close future. It's in 2070, when humanity finally reaches space.

Colonisation will be an aspect, but it is not the soul of the game, as so countries may not want to go to space, and try to fight out the remaining land on Earth.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Another disturbing fact about me:

When I'm alone I have a tendency to sing my thoughts out loud as if in a musical.

I describe what I am doing out loud in a third-person past tense internal monlogue out loud in the style of a gritty thirtys crime drama.

Hehe.

When I think about it, the way I sing it makes it more like an opera with a hint of lay.

EDIT: By comparing my voice to the piano, I found out that my singing voice lies deeper than standard bass, with C1 being easy for me to reach. And the highest tone I used when I sang that I needed something to drink being F2 which is the second deepest note in standard bass.

EDIT2:

E3 is too high for me to reach, so my singing voice is too deep for me to even be an oktavist. My singing voice is actually deeper than anything on the vocal scale.

According to the crude data I can get from recording and analyzing a sample of me pushing my extremes in depth, I can straight away count 4Hz in the beginning of the sample. I find it unlikely to be true, seeing how the world's deepest "tone" made by a human was at 8Hz ("tone" because it's infrasonic, so inaudible), but it does get me a bit intrigued....

After looking further into the sample, where I am certain it's mo voice and not noise, I found out I was at 1.5 times the previous frequency, however by doing a quick check on Wikipedia I found out I was doing the hertz wrong, counting both upper and lower peaks, so the start was in fact 2Hz and the definite voice sample was at 3Hz.

Just want to point out that the lower limit for human hearing is for continuous sound.

At 1 Hz you hear 1 beat per second.

At 10 Hz you can still decipher each of the 10 beats per second.

At 20 Hz you normally lose the ability to work hear the individual beats.

Example:

Download Audacity

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Got to Generate

Select Tone

Set frequency to 1.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Both true and false, you can't hear anything between 10Hz and 20Hz unless the tone is both perfect and loud in which case only 10Hz to 12Hz are inaudible.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll subject myself to 11Hz at full volume for a minute.
