blakdragon39
Why are sigils worth so much more than the spirit shields? Just wondering.

blakdragon39
Ah I see. So because of Coinshare, is nobody really buying the sigils, so they never really go down in price?
wioneo
Well the sigils are useless alone and Jagex unlinked them with shield prices for some horribly thought out reason, and if someone where to buy some of the dozens that are building up at the medium price(thanks to cs) and then make shields, they would lose millions. So the price can't change because none(most likely a few actually are) are being traded. The shields, on the other hand are being bought and sold regularly so their prices can move all over the place, but I don't think many new shields are actually being made. Arien
Well Sigil prices are high due to the unavailability of them in order for ge to update the prices information of certain item it has to go through the ge like as in buy/sell them and most sigil drops usuall lsed and made into spirit shields which makes it hardly rare to find them on ge... just like Christmass cracker / Blue party hat they show 1.8-1.9b but cause the trade of them goes on street value they don't sell on ge at all which make there prices stays as it is cause it doesn't get traded via ge... so sigils are higher cause they never get processed through ge system unlike the spirit shields them self they are getting sold/bought on daily basis.... which allow the ge to upkeep with the price changes. Wrong info here.Ever since free trade returned value of trades is monitored in player to player trading as well as ge and does impact the price. If everyone traded plain logs off the ge for 200gp each, ge price would rise. Other than that partially right, there IS a supply on GE due to coinshare drops, however sigils lootshared and turned into shields and the fact shields price isn't tied to the sigil the sheilds have become cheaper than the sigil alone; therefore no-one actually buys sigils.
