February 24, 201214 yr No, it doesn't. And that's a great deal of my point. When something from RuneScape happens to affect PKScape, PKScape players go up in arms. PKScape exists as a very fragile, secluded game within RuneScape, but is still subject to what happens in RuneScape. But it doesn't have to be that way. If they didn't have to play those silly pre-game distractions like Desert Treasure and Rock Crabs, I'm sure most PKScapers would be happier.

Then how can you say somebody 'plays PKscape' and not runescape solely because they PK? If you've ever done clan wars, do you play clanwarscape and not runescape? If you level fletching do you play fletchingscape and not runescape? 99 farm easy

If you only do the things necessary to PK, you are still playing PKScape.

If you only do the things necessary to PK, you are still playing PKScape. Yet you said I play PKscape and not runescape jsut because I PK. Get your story straight.I have my story straight. It's exactly what I just said. I can see your stat sig, I know you're a bit beyond a normal PKScaper. I'm actually not even using that term derogatorily, so please don't take it that way.But if you do not want to see changes to the game because they would change a much smaller part of the game - in this case, PKing - you are liable to be labled as such. If you would sacrifice (in this sense, if you were given the choice) the future growth of RuneScape by denying the things that would be necessary to turn RuneScape into a professional product and attract new players simply because your play is focused on a small part of the game you don't want to see changed, you are being detrimental to the game as a whole.

Well I'm still trying to work out how you're distinguishing 'PKscapers' from Runescapers. You say you're doing it one way but you are clearly basing your decision to label people 'PKscapers' on whether they PK or not. And then you're saying these people are not allowed to have an opinion on the rest of the game. And THEN you say it's not being used derogatorily. And the only reason you think this would be good for the future growth of runescape is because YOU want it. Everybody playing runescape right now obviously doesn't mind it. 99 farm easy

He's trying to say that if the only thing in Runescape you care about is PKing, you have different interests than players who don't care about (or care less about) pking. PKScape is the wrong term to me. People who only PK don't want to see updates that ruin the precarious balance that sometimes is PVP. But a lot of these updates are much desired by other players. February 24, 201214 yr I dislike the current combat system, because the so-called triangle doesn't work very well. Yes, magic and ranged have uses... But most often they cost so much more per damage output that they aren't useful. Maxed since Sunday, January 9th, 2014Completionist since Wednesday, June 4th, 2014

You can't make the sweeping assertion that everyone playing RuneScape doesn't mind it either, as that's easily proven untrue - it's merely an obvious hyperbole. I think the RuneScape combat system is long overdue some changes - but it seems we have some PKer lobbyists who resist change for the sake of nostalgia. Why do you feel it doesn't need changing?

If I wanted a different combat system I'd go play WOW. I'm not talking about balancing the skills, that's fine, but he's talking about completely changing combat. Might as well just play a different game. 99 farm easy
February 25, 201214 yr Is there a particular aspect of RuneScape PvP that makes it oh-so-superior to WoW? There seems to be an underlying assumption that any change will be for the worse, which seems highly improbable.

February 25, 201214 yr It was an inference drew from your statements about WoW. It was presumed that WoW combat is inferior, hence why it would be a negative thing to transit from RS -> WoW

February 25, 201214 yr As sad as it is....well at least he's the only dev where you know when he designs a boss, it's good. With every other dev I know, it's hit-or-miss.
