time2quit
Well like most of the RS population I really dislike quests, so it's taken a while for me to unlock TD's, but I did 95% of the quest last night and just have the final fight to go, which I'll finnish after work tonight, finnally unlocking td's. (Dispite the whole hating quests WGS has been actually pretty fun..). I've checked the tip it td guide, it seams to mention a lot chaotic's etc and was wondering if someone could help on a rough idea of equip/invy and summon? and how manyh kills per hour, again roughly I might be able to make? Statas bit: I only have 73 dungioneering so no chaotics yet, and unlocking any will take a while, and my summoning is 89 so no yak/titan, prayer 84, combats all 99 and I do have overloads. Funds wise for the final expensive skill I'm stockpiling D-bones to finally unlock turmoil, so would rather not spending a fortune on gear, I already have fulll void (no deflector/not elite) and a fury the rest is basics (drag dagger, whip, barrows gear etc). Woud the best be to melee/range, if so which weapons etc? Please try to avoid recomending I raise dungioneering, I don't have a group of friends todg with, and therefore am soloing and don't have 40 hours free to unlock a rapier etc. Thank you anyone that can help. JeRambo
Magic with melee and steel titan is the best option. Melee and range with a unicorn is your second option. Here's a void setup I've used in the past. Instead of a chaotic maul, use an abyssal whip/godsword, etc. Bring a dragon defender for darklight as well. You'll get around 40 kills per hour with this setup. Don't be dismayed when it's less at the beginning, that's perfectly normal for a newcomer to TDs. Void w/handcannon [hide][/hide] Black d'hide w/handcannon [hide] (hand cannon shots not shown)[/hide] I personally use the north spot but you figure out what works best for you. You might want to take some brews and less prayer potions at the beginning just to get the hang of it. I'm not sure if abyssal vine whip is the best melee weapon or not. "Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come." "An imperfect man can do great deeds, and a great man imperfect ones. For a spec wep, dragon claws or enchanted excalibur.Healing titan pouch and scrolls, darklight, weapon switches, saphy lantern. time2quit
Okie dokie, thats brilliant thanks, so void w/cannon & whip or GS (would this be one of the rare cases it might be better than a whip?) would be my best bet? Thanks for the invy as well, as I'm yak & titan-less just go 100% pony? And a final question, is there any of the lure spots that lend themselves better to a learner while I get used to killing them, or are they all much of a muchness? Again cheers for all of the help so far guys! Solo GWD'er Drops: Bandos Hilt x 1/ boots x 1 / Steam staff x 1 / Shards x 9 99 Str/ 99 Att/ 99 HP (More to come...) Ambler
The tip it guide gives some pretty good luring spots imo, well worth reading. :) And I thought yousaid you didn't have pony? Okay, ignore that part of my invy setup. :P ^^My blog of EoC PvM, lols and Therapy.^^My livestream- Currently: Offline :(Offical Harpy Therapist of the Mad[hide=Lewtations]Barrows drops: Dharok's helm x2, Guthan's helm, Ahrim's top, Hood and skirt, Torag's hammers, Karils skirt, Karil's top, Torag's helm, Verac's skirt, Verac's Flail, Dharok's Platebody.Dag kings drops: Lost count! :wall:4k+ Glacors, 7 Ragefires, 4 Steadfasts, 4 Glaivens, 400+ shards![/hide]
Quyneax
The tip.it guide covers spots in three categories: low, medium and high-end. You should pick the first spot, it's very easy to use and requires no special skill since there's only one demon there anyway. I'm pretty sure ganodermic w/ polypore + whip is faster kills but it's also a little more expensive setup because you really need mage's book/infinity boots etc. to boost your mage accuracy. Either way I recommend starting with black dragonhide for easier switches. Hand cannon got stealth-nerfed and is now 1 speed slower, so use Karil's crossbow instead (maybe chaotic/zaryte... you can pull a 4-switch to use void deflector w/ acp and void defender at the same time). You should be switching between piety and eagle eye, even when you do get turmoil you won't really get faster kills with it. Wait wait wait- when did hand cannon get nerfed? Was that recently? Last I checked it was speed 5 (longsword speed) while on rapid. Quyneax
It's 100% certainly 7 speed on accurate right now, which means 6 tick rapid. The speed is listed as 'extremely slow' which is the same as Dharok's greataxe (standard - 4, slow - 5, very slow - 6, extremely slow - 7 ticks). I don't know when it got changed. time2quit
Thanks for all of the help and pointers guys. I've finnished the quest and killed my first 10-15 demons, tyvm for the gear tips all very useful. The only area I seam to really be stuggleing with is lure's which I monumentally suck at and constently wind up having a second demon on me, and my lured demon is in a point where the second can usually hit me, so eating a ton and very short trips. I have tried the Northern spot, and it seams ok but quite, and then when I try and lure I always get the second by error. Wondered if anyone had any tips with regards to lures/postion and how to learn a bit quicker? Also is there any tips on prayer switching, the rare times so far I've only had one on me I haven't got my prayers right at all, are there any tips anyone can give me? I gathered there is a lot I'm not getting at all right atm, hence I'm no-where near where I should be. That being said it is rather fun. Quyneax
Well, from the guide:"Tormented demons always spawn with protect from melee active and will use magic attacks first upon spawning. The most dangerous attack is their ranged attack." They change attacks when they do their looking-up-magic-attack. So basically:Waiting for spawn - pray mage If demon is maging:See demon look up (cue switch) - pray ranged> If demon ranges, perfect switch> If demon melees, switch to protect melee If demon is ranging:See demon look up (cue switch) - pray mage> If demon mages, perfect switch> If demon melees, switch to protect melee If demon is meleeing:See demon look up (cue switch) - pray ranged> If demon ranges, perfect switch> If demon mages, switch to protect mage Supporter of Zaros | Quest Cape owner since 22 may 2010 | No skills below 99 | Total level 2595 | Completionist Cape owner since 17th June 2013 | Suggestions 99 summoning (18th June 2011, previously untrimmed) | 99 farming (14th July 2011) | 99 prayer (8th September 2011) | 99 constitution (10th September 2011) | 99 dungeoneering (15th November 2011) 99 ranged (28th November 2011) | 99 attack, 99 defence, 99 strength (11th December 2011) | 99 slayer (18th December 2011) | 99 magic (22nd December 2011) | 99 construction (16th March 2012) 99 herblore (22nd March 2012) | 99 firemaking (26th March 2012) | 99 cooking (2nd July 2012) | 99 runecrafting (12th March 2012) | 99 crafting (26th August 2012) | 99 agility (19th November 2012) 99 woodcutting (22nd November 2012) | 99 fletching (31st December 2012) | 99 thieving (3rd January 2013) | 99 hunter (11th January 2013) | 99 mining (21st January 2013) | 99 fishing (21st January 2013) 99 smithing (21st January 2013) | 120 dungeoneering (17th June 2013) | 99 divination (24th November 2013) Tormented demon drops: twenty effigies, nine pairs of claws, two dragon armour slices and one elite clue | Dagannoth king drops: two dragon hatchets, two elite clues, one archer ring and one warrior ring Glacor drops: four pairs of ragefire boots, one pair of steadfast boots, six effigies, two hundred lots of Armadyl shards, three elite clues | Nex split: Torva boots | Kalphite King split: off-hand drygore mace 30/30 Shattered Heart statues completed | 16/16 Court Cases completed | 25/25 Choc Chimp Ices delivered | 500/500 Vyrewatch burned | 584/584 tasks completed | 4000/4000 chompies hunted
