Powerfrog
Hi, I've always believed that you needed the slayer level (or someone in your team) to even find a creature that drops slayer items such as hood, blood, hex. Friend of mine tells me you don't. So whats the deal? I'm aware you don't need the slayer level to kill one, so this is playing a huge part in the "should i train slayer" field for me. Saradomin_Mage
You don't need the required slayer level to find that slayer monster in a dungeon. If it does show up, though, it'll only be in bonus rooms, or at least not in critical gds. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers. Octarine
If someone on your team has the slayer requirement (so they can kill it), they can spawn in critical gds. You could always pot up to kill slayer creatures in bonus rooms if you wanted too Blog of DG, Bossing (mostly Glacors) and stuff - Runetrack Play Safe! - Got useful information for the tip.it website? Quyneax
It's the same deal as with all other 'resources': on the critical path, resources are determined by the levels of the team, on the bonus paths the resources can be lower and higher. That is, sub 90 slayer you won't find eddis or gazers in critical gds, if you find them in non-critical gds someone can pot to kill them, and if nobody can pot to kill they can only be in non-gd bonus rooms. Powerfrog
Hmm, this is good news for me. Does anyone know how common they are now, after todays supposed update of making them more common? Do they now appear in solo small/meds?
JeRambo
According to the HLF, soulgazers and edimuus can be found in solo small and medium floors. It's just rarer. "Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come." "An imperfect man can do great deeds, and a great man imperfect ones. Cheefoo
I'm 89 slayer, very close to 90. Once I get it, would this increase my chance of seeing edimmus much at all? Are blood necklaces noticeably more common now after the slayer spawn increase, to the same degree as night spiders (and ssh by extension)? I'd say assuming you are the only person with slayer 90 or greater, it will have the chance to spawn in the gd that is on the critical path rather than just the bonus rooms. I can't say it would be a noticeably greater chance unless the people who you do floors with are all < 90 slayer otherwise I don't see a reason it would be different. I rarely see edimmu, maybe once every one to two ring resets on average before the update(I've been 99 slayer the entire time I've been doing dungeoneering). I've seen about three in around six floors since the update so it is more common, atleast from what I've deducted from that small sample. Night spiders, there are actually a lot of night spiders now. I've been in a room with 3 night spiders, 7 of them in the whole floor.
