May 21, 201214 yr I don't see any reason why it should work worse than any other spell.. Mage isn't all that great there anyway. Why not go with cannon + dragonbane bolts? I'm guessing you're trying to max out combat. Save magic for glacors or passively train it via skilling. Working on max and completionist capes. 2435/2475
May 21, 201214 yr Just rapier them. It doesn't matter if the pps is "fine", frosts don't have nearly enough stab defense for it to be worth it.
May 21, 201214 yr If you've completed RoTM, you can mine bane ore & cast Attune Bane Ore on a (frost) dragon bone with a bunch of ores in your inventory, then smith them into bolts. The bolts will be as strong as mithril and have a 50% damage boost vs. all dragons. It's pretty much the fastest way to kill frosts. May 22, 201214 yr Yep, dragonbane bolts with void(swiftgloves and deflector) while cannoning is about as fast as rapier at frosts. May 22, 201214 yr I don't think the time taken to get bane bolts is worth it.They are made in bunches of 50's rather than 10's, the ore mines superfast, it's relatively close to a bank (fairy ring), the anvil is the only thing "far away" despite being close to a fairy ring, but since they are made in bigger bunches, doesn't really matter, and the tune ore spell works on a whole inventory, you can easily make 8k ish in one hour.
