Dagannoth Sentinels

Just spent an hour at dagannoth sentinels with 3 overloads (4), turmoil on the whole time, reduced defense with 3 goliath glove specs, wearing a crapier, void+deflector/goliath gloves, ardy cape (3), dragon boots, fury, and a berserker ring.

 

I got 140 k exp/hr...

 

I have a hard time believing that an iron titan spamming scrolls is an additional 100 k+ xp/hr so am I doing something wrong or am I just seriously underestimating the prowess of spamming iron titan scrolls with summoning potions?

Iron titan does add a ton to your dps, I know that steel titan can match rapier on Glacytes, and iron is just 3 hits instead of four, each dealing high amounts of damage (consider the reduced defense here, you're hitting 450/ 3 seconds approx) This really does allow an increase in exp, and is well worth it. :)

Why didn't you use BGS and rhino cape(or fire)?

 

With 100% accuracy and your gear you'd expect 174k/hour xp w/o titan

 

With 100% accuracy and max gear you'd expect 185k/hour xp w/o titan

 

Titan should add 50k/hour at the very least, so i don't think 240k/hour is very unrealistic.

 

I'm gonna try it today for half an hour with titan and report my xp.

It's because you didn't use a BGS and you didn't use a charged helm.

 

Titan w/ charged helm adds a minimum of 40k/hr. Charged helm + manual scrolls w/o summon pots is 50k/hr. Never bothered to waste summon pots there

 

I get at least 160k att xp/hr there, plus 40k def xp from titan, using:

 

Charged neitz helm

Kiln cape

Str ammy

Rapier

Bandos chestplate

Bandos tassets

DFS

Goliath gloves

Dragon boots

Zerker ring

I've never really done it for an extended period of time, but is it really worth using DFS? For the 1 str to beat +25 stab you have to be close to 99% accuracy or above...

If they have 0 defence then yes it does make it worth using.

edit-- just got 170k att xp this past hour, plus 45k def from titan.

 

for what it's worth, suomi uses DFS and str ammy too. DFS also means less soul splitting (meaning, more AFK'able for me :D)

Like players, NPCs defense levels regenerate over time. So if you were to use goliaths, you would have to spec a few times every few minutes... Or just BGS every 5 minutes. At least that's how i think it works, best place to test that theory would be sentinels :P

That reminds me... I get more XP/hr using only BGS specs, every 5 minutes. I got less xp/hr when I used vine whip + spec restores.

It totally slipped past me earlier, but now I'm actually there (afking as i type :P)

 

...You can't use DFS! You're using void deflector!

 

I guess if you wanted to use ss a lot less you would use bandos/torva instead of void, but for pure xp you should be voiding. I totally overestimated their defense, DFS probably would be better DPS after a few specs, and again, more convenient for afking.

 

Dharoking is surely the best xp if you're not gonna be afk, though

 

Edit: Almost ko'd it with a 600 rapier + titan spec, lol... I think that's become my new minigame as i train, try kill it as it's healed :P

Void is 2% damage increase over bandos... I can't see the few extra scrolls being worth it...

 

But it does help a lot in terms of choosing bandos for easier afk, knowing the difference is less than 2% thanks to scrolls.

Wait, do you know exactly how the charged helm functions? What is the "chance" per attack? I can't see any numbers anywhere i look and assumed it was a lot less significant than you're claiming.

 

Normal freestyle is 2 at a time.

 

You *can* be attacked by 6 sentinels at a time if you do the special challenge, if you think you can comfortably semi-afk 6 at a time. You can simply kill a few to get whatever is the optimal number for max scrolls + afk.

I don't know *how* it works but I know it doubles or triples the scrolls/hr. For example at spectres you can use 50 scrolls (1 slayer helmet's worth) in 10-15 minutes in addition to the 25-38 you get from manual scrolling. The main obstacle to using scrolls is changing targets, which occasionally resets scrolls, but you don't have to change at sentinels :D.
