Ganodermic beasts setup

Drazhor

Recommended Posts

I unlocked Ganodermic beasts last night and I'm just curious as to what set-up can be used?

Only thing I know is that I'll be using the Polypore staff and Ahrims robe top+bottoms+hood.

Anybody know what equipement i should use and what inventory I should use if I'm planning to kill them for some money?

Ok it seems like you have your gear set up, but I also want you to keep in mind that because you'll be praying mage the whole fight and they are weak to mage you'll want to use the best mage offensive gear. I will offer what I feel is the best setup, but some others might feel more emphasis on getting more of a prayer boost and say using something like akristae might be better.

Head: ahrim hood

Body: ahrim robe top

Legs: ahrim robe bottom

Shield: mages book/celestial surgebox

Staff: polypore

Gloves: spellcaster/cull. 10 gloves

Boots: ragefires/infinity

Ring: ring of wealth/seers ring/seers ring I

Amulet: arcane stream/amulet of fury

Cape: soulwars/god mage cape

Every single fight you'll want to safe spot them so don't bother using the neem oil. There are several coveted spots that you'll like, but you can pretty much safe spot them from anywhere. The ideal setup might be to bring about 10 prayer potions, 1 summoning potion, 2 pack yaks or torts, and scrolls to bank if you feel like it or alch supplies. You'll also want to bring a few safety food because even experienced gano campers like myself can go semi-AFK, mess up the clicking thinking we caught them on the safe spot and die/nearly die from the gano's toxic AOE attack. You should be able to last for ever picking up pretty much all of the loot except you might want to dodge the obvious stuff like hops and allotment seeds so don't really worry about not having space unless you collect a lot of odd's and ends. You'll also want to keep in mind bringing another recharges worth of fire runes (15k, no pores as you'll receive more than enough to recharge) as you get more efficient you'll find yourself staying up to 4 or 5 bobs worth.

Only variance I have to ^ is that I use Akrisae's instead of Ahrim's for prayer (also take along Reverence), and use a wolper instead of a BoB.

If no wolpertinger then take overloads or extreme magic pots.

I find myself a more relaxed player, but OVLs really are overrated for this monster. The only effective part from OVLs here is the constant 5 minute magic boost. The price on one sip of OVL is about 20k and, assuming he goes for two hour trips average that's a 480k loss from profits. To be brutally honest and keeping the facts straight ganos are a steady income, but at the same time they are very unpredictable with rates going anywhere from 1-4m an hour and that's if you get really, really lucky. I personally found myself gaining at least, after some lucky RDT drops, 1.35m and at most a 3.85m gain when I pulled a 5 magic seed, 3 yew seed, 2 palm seed loot among others.

I'd definitely go with the Wolpertinger. Most of their drops stack, so you shouldn't need a BOB for drops, and you definitely won't need one for food. The only reason to take a BOB would be for prayer pots and magic pots, and if you use a Wolpertinger & scrolls that covers magic pots, so just take prayer pots/renewals in your inventory. Take excalibur for healing if needed. You could always take void elite mage for a decent mage setup + prayer bonus, but I don't know how that compares to ahrims.

Increase magic attack bonus as much as you can and keep whatever prayer bonus that gives you. Maxed equipment (excluding comp cape), that's about 6 (Virtus set + arcane). If you're using Ahrims, maybe Akrisae's hood is better, and/or an Ardougne cloak 3/4.

Wolper > Ovls I'm pretty sure, provided you scroll when your magic level drops.

Cannoning is pretty good if you want to pay attention. Free ranged xp and more effigies.

Whatever you do, Ahrim's hood is a waste of money (repair-wise). A farseer helm has the same cost, mage attack and it doesn't degrade. It can also hold combat scrolls (but there are no offensive scrolls capable of hitting ganos that you'd want to use afaik).

wolper>>>>>BoB for sure.

My strategy is to get ~30 prayer bonus (so you only need prayer renewals), and then maximize mage bonus.

Ah skirt: 22 mage 0 prayer, Akr skirt: 16 mage, 5 prayer (.833 prayer:mage)

Ah Top: 30 mage 0 prayer, Akr top: 20 mage, 8 prayer (.8 prayer:mage)

Farseer helm: 6 mage 0 prayer, Akr hood: 5 mage, 4 prayer (4 prayer:mage)

Arcane spirit shield: 20 mage 3 prayer, ill. unholy book: 8 mage 8 prayer (.416 prayer:mage)

Ardy 3: 6 mage 6 prayer Soul wars cape: 12 prayer (1 prayer:mage)

so based on that akr hood>soul wars cape>akr skirt>akr top>ill. unholy book for increasing prayer until 30, then max mage bonus. Boots/gloves/ring aren't worth it for increasing prayer bonus.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).
