sportsjock215
Is the dragon hatchet really worth it? I do some afk skills one I am at work and I have been fishing, but thought I might switch from sharks to yews. I have 84 woodcutting and was wondering if its worth the money. Vezon Dash
Yes. It really isn't that expensive, and you can sell it back if you need to.
Lord Paul
By the same extension, dragon pickaxe is also worth it. You run the risk of either crashing, but you could also make money if the item goes up. Definitely buy it. Working on max and completionist capes. 2435/2475
sportsjock215
Thats what i figured. I just did not know how much faster it was than rune hatchet

Hedgehog
all tools are 10% better than the previous version iirc.No. Btw, yews are terrible money and xp. If you absolutely need to afk while wcing, then do ivy.
Randox
I believe the dragon hatchet was said to be 15% faster than rune when it was released (by Jagex), though I might be confusing it with a pick. I used to have the numbers for picks too, as measured at rune essance. I do remember that the rune pick was ~ twice as fast as bronze though, assuming that the ess mine rate translates directly to all other mining, which it might not. The dragon hatchet though is certainly worth the investment though.
Hedgehog
Pickaxes all have the same accuracy, their only difference is their speed: Bronze: 8 ticksIron: 7 ticksSteel: 6 ticksMithril: 5 ticksAdamant: 4 ticksRune: 3 ticksDragon: ~2.7 ticks on average Hatchets work based on woodcutting bonus. They all have 4 tick cooldowns.
sportsjock215
Thanks everyone...Hedgehog so you think the money and exp is crappy for yews? I thought Ivy was just for exp basically. I am not really sure cause it was brought into the game when I was on a break and did not ever look into it. I have just been fishing sharks for afk skill while I am doing other work and was gonna mix in some woodcutting.
Hedgehog
http://forum.tip.it/blog/39/entry-1899-fishing-floccinaucinihilipilification/ Don't fish sharks or cut yews. If you absolutely need afk time, head to runespan or ivy (rocktails would be better than ivy at 90+ fishing).
Aiel
yews and sharks are both terrible money and xp. It's better to find something (like ivy or rocktail) that's better xp and no money or something like ganos which are afk money and low xp. DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers ringsQBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow partsCR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size....It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty). AHappySeeker
200k/hour for afking yews vs 6m/hour for afking runespan. Yes, that's how much runespan time is worth when you max combat. So fking afk it now instead of wasting your time with 2004 moneymakers.
sportsjock215
Well I was just doing fishing or woodcutting because I am working during the day and i was switching out my plots in catherby...I found the fishing pools move less so I did not have to pay attention as much as woodcutting....I am poor since the last I quit runescape I gave almost everything away and today I died with over 1m lost in items...I wasnt really looking to get rich just something I could do while working and change my farming plots....Thanks for the other articles and all the advice though
AHappySeeker
Runespan is more afk.
sportsjock215
yes, i thought about doing that but I wanted to 1 be able to switch a few plots out and 2 make at least a little money...I just wanted to make a little spare change for misc. things I buy and I don't make a profit farming...I just mainly buy pineapple seeds and switch them out everyday and use the herbs I make. homer205
Sell the herbs you farm and then use the money to buy the herbs that give the best balance of gp/xp and xp/h.
sportsjock215
Well I have been doing kwuarm and limp roots...not much profit but my herblore level is low and I wanted to work on it...I did decide to do runespan and get 80 runecrafting
