Urza285
I was wondering if anyone was interested in writing one for me? I am interested in a slight beginners guide to camping her because i want to work on collecting the other three journals for the completionist trim requirements. I have all of the desired max gear besides murmur and pernix. I think my ideal gear setup would be this: Armadyl helmet (e)Amulet of furyArmadyl chestplateArmadyl plateskirtEagle-eye kiteshieldChaotic crossbowDragonbane arrowsSwift glovesGlaiven bootsArcher ring ICompletionist capeVampirism aura I plan on having scrolls for what familiar I'm using on the helmet. I also plan on having dreadnips, super antifire (4), overload (4), and the rest flasked brews and restores at a ratio of 3:1. I was wondering a few things... Should I borrow claws to claw her in a range setup? If so is bringing a special restore potion worth it? Should I bring a slash weapon against her minions when ranging or can I bypass that? I beat her the first time with melee so is it worth it ranging? How many dragonbane bolts would you expect someone to use to subdue her 30+ times? Rough highball estimates are ok. Would a DFS be worth it to reduce hassle? Would meleeing be a much more easier method for me? Melee setup would change to neit helm, bandos top, bottom, ddef/cks/dfs, cr, Goliath gloves, steads, zerker i, whisper, praying mage, turm and definitely clawing. Are pack yak drops still lost on death like when she was first released? Is rigor worth using over drain defense and drain range combo? More questions to come I believe... Sally
http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=queen_black_dragon.htm This may help with some of your questions, not sure though. Gotta Catch 'Em All!Blog
Octarine
Use either your posted setup, just making sure you mean bolts not arrows :P or Use Void range acp/swifts w/deflector, it really is quite a major boost Accuracy and Defence really don't make much (or any) difference for qbd, so i'd favour swifts. Bring a rapier/dds for dispatching souls either when one starts to cast the time stop or when the queen siphons their lifepoints. On timestop just kill the caster, on the siphon kill them all. Use your titan on the souls for this too. At all other times you can just ignore the souls and evade their specials as usual. Use rigour over leeches, and range is significantly easier than melee. dfs wouldnt really help. as for inventory, something along the lines of: Ovl, renewal, anti, void melee helm, rapier, dds, 3-4 summon pots. titan scrolls with pre-summoned titan and rest of the inv 3-4:1 b/r ratio Blog of DG, Bossing (mostly Glacors) and stuff - Runetrack Play Safe! - Got useful information for the tip.it website? Levells
Use Void range acp/swifts w/deflector, it really is quite a major boost If you're using acp, you'd need deflector and void gloves. Swifts mean you only have 2 of the 3 pieces. Can't have both w/ void. So Swifts or acp? Also, if using a void melee swap, you'd need another piece in addition to the helm in your invy. Saradomin_Mage
He meant acp or swifts with deflector. Swifts would produce a better damage output for ranged and you could just switch to melee helm for meleeing the souls (though a goliaths switch would help a lot). 1 In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers. Urza285
I really don't have melee helm. I mean I could go get it, but is it worth it? Noxx
To add to everything thats been said, melee is a lot faster method. Youve got two options: DH or Bandos with Rapier. I found my average kill while using DH to last under 5 minutes and pretty much the same for Bandos although with Bandos i had more margin for error since i didnt have to sit at ~400 lp the whole time. I found that being around that lp was the only way DH was worth it. With a Bandos setup i'd usually use around 5 brews per kills, sometimes less and with Dh id use about 8 or 9 since i could not SS as often (due to having to stay at low lp). I could usually fit in about 5 kills per trip using Bandos (more whe i used Torva as i'd only use 2 or 3 brews a kill). You could also use Void for Meleeing, although the Melee attack might give you a hard time.
Urza285
Yeah too hardcore. Not a fan of DHing anything. Maxed [February 14, 2012] | Completionist [October 25, 2012] | Trimmed Completionist [in Progress]Visit my Blog!
