sorry to hear man. at least you wasnt scammed by a good friend who you had known since classic, and who back stabbed you over a green p hat and guthix, like my old *friend* did :( Sad to hear though, hope things work out.

Been there..Asked a friend who was one of my frist friends in rsc to xfer red phat a few sets of rune and 1m for me..He accpeted and logged :D This is when 1m was godly..He wasted the money on a pink phat. Top notch(y) I didn't quit though..Took a month or 2 break go over it and came back. Since then I've been scammed once for like 3m and hacked 3 times.

Anyway, I begged this person for 5 minutes

whats up with the spam ? any way, dont quit keep going. ive got scammed just do some other sutff.

RSC had a [cabbage]ty community too, all the way from the beginning. You guys just remember the good times, a lot of bad happened too.

I didn't play for a long time cause I got hacked. It was horrible losing everything. I had all the rares, since I have played from the beginning and wouldn't have traded anything for them.

RS has gotten worse, but stop comparing it to RSC

I'd say not to quit people do make mistakes and people take advantage of those mistakes.

On a side note about the "cabbage" community, I am beginning to relize people are damn lazy. People almost never acknowledge positive things. The only reason I can think of is because people think showing negatives is easier. It happens in rl too, if something doesn't help that person they don't want anything to do with it. Don't say it's not true because it is. How many topics get posted about "good updates" or anything like that compared to the scammer/hacker/cheater topics? Like 1:20? Focus on the positive aspects of anything not the negative it's ticking me off. Everyday I come surfing on this forum it's the same old story about those damn hackers and you guys posting about them. A little offtopic and probably won't get read much but ffs these posts about the supposedly "bad" community are worse than whats happening in game.

technically scammers arent breaking the law

thats why we have legal fraudsters around nowdays

Anyway, let's not turn this topic into a flame war.

Sorry to see you go even though I don't know who you are, I would be pissed if that happened to me too :(

LOL (not meant bad) i've got hacked 2 times and i still play runescape, the second time i almost lost my account too!

anyway, if you are scammed, try to go to barrows again! if you had luck one time, you are almost sure to get it twice.....

A lot of people seem to misunderstand, I'm not quitting because I lost the item, an hour ago I didn't even have it, and I lost nothing to get it.

I'm quitting because I feel I've had a good run with Runescape but it's not the game it used to be, to me at least.

I had a lot of friends over the years in Runescape, but most of them I lost contact with, I gave all my stuff to my main, three best friends, because I know they'll enjoy it the most. I'll look through my bank and see if I can donate anything to TET.

Anyway, thanks for all the comments.

peace

Getting scammed in such a fashion is no one fault but your own. I don't feel bad saying that either. Plain and simple, you're quitting because you made a dumb mistake and don't want to work to make your money back.

Yer right. Not. Now go and be scammed off a few millions. See who comes and rant on the forums.

A truly dedicated player would sack up and pick himself up, not quit and cry like a baby on forums. Sure, I don't blame him for trying to get some sympathy but what else is he expecting? Neither us, nor JAGex, is going to give him anything close to what he lost so it's a waste of effort and space on the forum.

I have been scammed before, I've also lost millions worth of gp back when it was actually impressive to have accumulated 1M and I did feel bad but I didn't throw my hands in the air and scream: "I quit!". Hell no, I told myself that I wasn't having any of this and started fishing until I had made more than I had lost.

That's how you handle getting scammed/hacked. None of this quitting cabbage.

*edit*

And then I apologize for misunderstanding the reasons behind you leaving the game. I didn't mean to flame you, it just bugs me when people quit, or threaten to quit, because of having lost items. Good luck in real life.

It really is a shame to see players go becuase of no life scammers. I had never been scammed up until 2 weeks ago when i sold 6.5k cballs for 130k instead of 1300k. :(... I almost quit too but since i had already quit for a year i decided that it wasnt that big of a deal.(plus i had merchanted most of it). Good luck irl.
