Auras

So with the discount I'm thinking I should spend some points. I currently have all four green fingers jot and tier one call of the sea. Wondering what the best choice would be for me. I will have 76,100 points as of tomorrow.

 

Currently considering vampirism and penance. Also the runic and sharpshooter ones. Had breifly looked at the hunter and theiving ones as those are the only skills that could still really benefit from auras.

 

Any opinions would be great.

Penance is utterly nuts and basically negates the need for prayer potions everywhere you'd use them otherwise.

Seconding Vampyrism, a cheap man's Soul Split.

 

Also, the skill accuracy related auras are not that great in practice, as from what I am aware, they stack multiplicatively rather than additively.

 

To illustrate, I have 10% to chop a log every tick. using the 10% increase aura, i don't get 20% chance, i only get 11% (10% + 10%*10%).

 

This info may be outdated, but that was why skill accuracy auras are not recommended

 

Penance and Vampyrism are both 23000 base price, 17250 during the sale. Both excellent purchases

Yeah I have soul split so I wasn't sure vamp is worth it.

 

And the reason I veto'd the skilling ones was due to the fact that as you level you fail less which means the value of the auras tanks quickly.

 

What I'm currently thinking is penance and vamp + alternate between Mage and range accuracy ones till out of points.

Vampyrism for extra health if you don't feel like soul splitting and penance for being able to afk bosses and such.

I believe the effect is larger than the percentage only, but smaller than the additive, so we basically don't know how it works.
