And for me, replace misses with hits no matter what the dice rolls, and the damage from the natural one on damage roll with 12 (really, damage modifier is +11 now).

Like E6, but level 8 - since in pathfinder level 8 is the paramount of caster/martial balance and apparently optimum fun.

I say we should continue as usual. Level capping here isn't going to do us any good.

I don't know what Archi's new character is going to be, but even as the only current non-spellcaster, I'd say that even at higher levels, we'd still be able to take down twice our own amount of spellcasters.

Alg, the encounter I faced as good as alone on the ship in the beginning of the session was a CR13 encounter (not including the cannon golem), I think I'm a bit above that line.

Did it include casters?

No, but as Serén I did once beat up a high-level caster without using any magic myself, and that was as a full spellcaster wielding a greatsword.

 

A regular fighter can easily beat up a spellcaster as long as it's built correctly, spellcasters just have an advantage because they can be built like shit but make up for it with good spells.

On the other hand, Nef hasn't actually pulled out an optimized spellcaster yet.

Casters > Fighters at later levels because all that's standing between their target and death is a roll to save (at best), and they can generally provoke said roll at long range. If they're built well, it's also a roll you'll probably fail.

 

Meanwhile, ranged fighters would have to contend with things like wall spells, summons, magically padded ACs, and Invisibility spells, plus they always have a 1 in 20 chance to miss. After they've got Rapid Shot and Manyshot out of the way, they're done with the major damage increases, which is the only thing keeping them relevant.

 

Melee fighters are pretty much hosed.
