I'm looking for the best (dps) magic gear that does not degrade.

 

I currently use a full set of subj with arma bstaff. I'm assuming ragefires would boost me up a bit?

Most armour has nothing to do with DPS really, so if you define 'best' by dps alone you want no armour only the best staff in-game that's not degrading (arma) + Arcane Stream for it's boost.

 

Assuming you actually want defence (which in eoc you do unless you are insane) as well then yes Subjugation + ragefires is the best non-degrading mage options available.

 

Edit: Yeah as below in terms of pure DPS void works. forgot about that!

Just remember that using void sacrifices a lot of defence and constitution, so going back to heal all the time will just bring your DPS back down. Still, if you've got something in mind which doesn't involve you taking a lot of hits, void all the way.

Its a trade off between utilising the low defence, yet high DPS of void in conjunction with Soul Split vs gear like Subjugation.

In some cases, Void is best, but in others defence is too important to over look.

I believe subjugation is the best

I use Subjugation with a armadyl battlestaff as off slayer gear, i quite like it.

Void->virtus->subjugation

 

These 3 are the only(?) armor that gives any DPS.

Virtus obv degrades and cost's alot :/

This not entirely true. While it's true that you can't Void everything as you once could(largely due to them nerfing Void), Defense has diminishing returns, For instance, if you are hunting fairly high level bosses, you can't run around in Void as effectively as you could, since it has the defensive statistics of Mithril armour or something. However, with level 70 Gear(Barrows/Gwars) you can defend yourself almost as well as level 80/85 armour. Level 80/85 armour obviously has much more defense because of the exponential curve, but you really don't need that much defense for most things (including bosses), it's very much overkill.

I just said that in EoC you generally do want defence, opposed to the rubbish defence offered by Void. Plus given the qualification of 'non-degrading' diminishing returns is hardly an issue since it traps him at level 70 tier max ruling out Ganodermic, Virtux and Seasinger.

Void is best gear atm everywhere if ur not in task..

I made a general comment on your claim about the need for defense, not 'uber max defense'. Pre-Eoc, it was very much important to have the best defense you could possibly have for higher level bossing, now, it's not the case.
