February 7, 200620 yr Today doom comes out on DVD! Personally I thought it was a good movie for one made from a game and besides, I am a big fan of all the doom games myself!I will be running down to rent it today! Your thoughts on the movie and DVD :?:

I don't know how much it is used in this movie, but in movies like The Untouchables or Cacḫ̩̉̉. Can be a great tension maker, don't know how it is used in Doom though. I don't know about Doom though, never really been much a fan of the game or that genre. I might end up seeing it though. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
February 7, 200620 yr If it's got The Rock in it, I own it :D Woot! I would say it was pretty good. They seemed to have way dumbed it down for those who don't wish to think/haven't played the game. Other than the fact that there was a "Doom Guy" or sorts, a "Sarge", it being on Mars and fighting IMP's, there was little connecting the movie to the game(s)...The story was way different...It was pretty good though, decent action flick... I kinda wanted more from The Rock+Doom...It didn't achieve what it should have. Oh yeah, and the First-Person type thing DID work...I thought it was excellent. And plus, why does everyone always mention that when they think of the movie? It was only in first person for like a minute and a half (of amazing action!!!) But I guess it did make more buzz for the movie... So - I'll watch the movie again, but probably won't buy it, atleast for a while.
February 7, 200620 yr I thought the first person view was awesome too. I watched it with like... 5 mates and we were all shouting and stuff at the extreme action during the first person view. Dreaming of that face againIt's bright, and blue, and shimmeringGrinning wideAnd comforting me with it's three warm and wild eyes
February 7, 200620 yr Author I agree that the FPS-style part of the movie was mediocre but then again it wasnt that bad...But the Pinky monster got ripped off by that guy in a wheelchair.Lets just say that the top part of his body came but the other got left behind. or something like that. :roll:
February 7, 200620 yr Half-decent CG work.. ive seen better but when he pulls out that BFG... :| omg.. :) erhm other than that 5/10 5 for me is average 1 is pure crap 10 is magnificent anything in between is what you would think.. :P
