Yay for unfair bans!

Featured Replies

I probably could (should have) posted this after it happened, but I rage quitted (understandably so!) soon after this whole ordeal and didn't come back for a good 8 months or more.

Anyways, so on my old account (old being not a specific term) I was banned for a "major-macroing" soon after achieving 800 total level, 100% F2P. I have (had) tons of friends who could respond/agree to the legitimacy of my account, and as you can see I have no past "warning bans" or such for macroing, and yet still received a permanent ban.

The odd thing is when I try to log in I get this:

The seconds actually are counting down, but this means I will recieve (maybe l0l0l) my account back in just..a little over 14 months. If that count down is even accurate.

Any thoughts/ideas/contacts?

I'd love to get this account back, it was such a stellar piece of work.

How did you get 14months?

101014 hours = 4209 days = 11.5 years

My calculator gave me 415 days or so..must have missed typed, regardless a long time, and no response to an appeal that was 2 years ago.

Yeah, I've got 11.5 years too. Just wait until 2023, it's not that long and I'm sure RuneScape will still be around...

And once he's waited til then he can wait til 2024

2013.25 + 11.5 = 2024.75

So like October 2024

Spin/SolomScape will, no doubt.

I know botters whom's friends will vouch for them too.

Not hard to find them because botting is a common thing.

Among that, convincing friends you don't bot is pretty easy.

Have your private set to off, and they can't see you're online. Just don't bot on the same world they're on and they'd never know.

Until you got banned.

Then they'll have doubts.

Enjoy waiting till 2024.

Not like you will anyway.

You're likely already botting a new f2p account and have it up to 500 total + already.

Previous warnings/offenses are irrelevant. Macroing majors (especially back in 2011) are an automatic permanent ban.

THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

From what I had read after it happened, Jagex seemed to have said that you were ALWAYS given a impermanent ban first (usually a month), but maybe that was incorrect.

What? I've known dozens of people who botted excessively in 2011 and none of them were banned. The only time I've heard of an acquaintance/friend being banned for macroing was one who decided to bot several 200m's (lol) and another who said they did ingame at the ge. I mean, yeah, obviously they say the rule is perm-ban for any botting but they don't exactly stick to their policy very well.

Jagex is much harder on f2p'ers and obvious gold-farmers. Regardless of whether you did or didn't, sucks, sorry to hear that.

Yeah if you're paying Jagex they seem to have a very different view on how someone's "botting" should be dealt with (I am looking at all the h/c bots being JUST muted).

Indeed. I come from a family of law enforcement, and they've seen cases where friends/family vouch for the innocence of a guy charged with robbing a bank, despite a couple dozen witnesses, his face being on several different security cameras, and him being pulled over while driving the van carrying the money in a high speed chase. Family and friends will pretty much always vouch for your innocence, that's why they are your family/friends.

Funny because I didn't see Glaco's post until you quoted it - anyways, have your suspicions or not, I know where I stand/stood and I play the game to enjoy myself. Hence the reason I have quit 6-7 times over these 8 years and have at least 6 different accounts, because I got either bored of the game or the style i was playing wanted to take a break or try something new. Botting fulfills neither of these I would assume, and thus I have never really seen the draw to it. If I don't enjoy something I won't do it, seeing as Runescape is a means of relaxation, not stress, for me.

I'm not saying you're suspicious, I'm just saying your friends vouching for you doesn't mean squat.
