March 14, 201313 yr In 07 you were forced to choose small amount of def xp or large amount to finish the quest... Ruining pures. Is this still the case in the 07 server? (This would also mean you can't get addy gloves at 1 def too!)

Ahh thanks very much for this explanation, as I could have sworn I had a scimmy pure in 08 and was confused how I managed it that early. I am going to suggest they add the removal of needing to talk to the gnome into the runescape forums content polls, as it's a small thing and they seem to actually be listening and implementing these types of convenience things. I love how Jagex are handling 07 so far.

March 14, 201313 yr Adding evil trees? No. The evil trees and geting people to the island was an untended side effect. With no evil trees, it isn't possible to get to the island without talking to him. Unless you can use fairy rings. Are there fairy rings there? I don't recall. March 15, 201313 yr gotta save the monkey in RFD for ape tele, which requires you to get defense xp. 1 def pures can only get mith gloves. rune pures can get barrows gloves, though :D
