Coming back for Bandos and need suggestions

ok so last I played runescape was around 3 years ago and my account was maxed to 138.... Knowing that runescape 3 is on its way am making a return back. I found many different changes in the game which I am trying to get the grip off. I would like to go to solo bandos again :) ok so I have this armour: Veracs helm, Zamoraks stole, Skill cape, bandos chest and tassets, drygore longsword and offhand, scrimshaw of vampirism, barrows glove, berserker ring and ganodermic boots. Any suggestions if armour is good ? I shall take pak yak overloads, restore and sara brews and alchemy runes. Changed my prayers to curses so I can use turmoil and soul split. What are the keybinds and how best to set them up for GWD ? any other suggestions ? have just read about POP armour...hows best to get it quickly ?

1) Trade your Zamorak's stole for a whisper amulet.

2) Trade your skill cape for a tokhaar cape.

3) Trade your barrows gloves & ganodermic boots for Bandos boots & gloves.

4) Trade your berserker ring for a warrior ring.

5) Trade your Verac's helmet for a Bandos helmet.

6) Trade your Saradomin brews for rocktails.

7) Bring adrenaline potions.

 

Don't forget to activate your scrimshaw before fighting, it doesn't do so automatically. You will probably not have enough defence to really tank Graardor - you can bring a shield switch to heal a bit, or you can upgrade Bandos to Torva.

 

Keybinds: Slice, Dismember, Sever, Backhand, Assault, Slaughter, Destroy, Flurry, Guthix' Blessing, Escape, Anticipation, Freedom.

Alternate Slice with the other basics, in order, until you can use your tresholds, in order. Only use Flurry when you're next two two targets, ideally three or more. Make sure you make your target move when using Slaughter. Guthix' Blessing is a panic button, no more. After the kill, use the last three abilities to stall adrenaline until the next kill.

 

Ports armour can't be obtained quickly, the only way is to start sending ships ASAP and it'll take a few months.

you're going to want a bandos helm, boots and gloves as well, assuming you cant afford torva (~400m for the set). MH drygore mace is better then ls (+8 prayer) and afaik is cheaper as well, OH are equal. Sell the zerker ring and get a warrior ring, or do TWW and get a sixth age circuit. Get a demonhorn necklace (gives prayer points for burying bones) and bonecrusher from dg and ditch the brews and restores for more ovls+pray renewls with a few extra ppots and rocktails. With this setup you'll be able to last until you run out of overloads/yaks.

Ability rotation should be:

with slaughter replaced with flurry and barricade and flurry replaced with anticipation and surge. Use flurry as often as you can (more prayer/ss healing from minos). Basic rotation should alternate between slice (1 on that setup) and other basics with the priority being sever>kick>dismember>punish=decimate, and threshold priority being flurry>assault>destroy. Between kills use anticipation/freedom/surge to keep yourself in combat and maintain adrenaline.

I am 99 defence :) do you reckon to swith the drygore longswords MH and offhand to drygore mace for main and offhand ???

Your level isn't the issue, it's your armour, in Bandos you don't have enough defence.

 

Switching longswords to cheaper drygores (maces) to free up cash for better armour is a good idea, but if it won't get you a good Torva piece, don't bother.

right click on the button on the action bar, and select Customize keybind, this allows you to remap the keys. I HIGHLY suggest a configuration where all your skills can be pressed without moving your hand. I also put the 4 most used abilities on ASDF keys (assuming a QWERTY keyboard here)

so today prepared to do some bandos with the help above :) never used the ability skills and key bindings in runescape so hope I dont make a mess :)

 

what would my inventory be ? I shall be using the pak as familiar

ok so yesterday did bandos after so long with the suggestions above...did around 20 kills but did a mistake where I was left with only 1 piece of food and thought I will kill graardor as he was a tick away but instead I got killed...well lost arnd 20mil ...

 

Now did some changes and bought torva chest and legs and am using drygore mace as main and offhand and the dung necklace for prayer .... is this a good setup ? saw some videos with full virtus/ wand and spell book and he seemed to inflict more damage and health / prayer was always up so he lasted longer.

 

So what is the best setup for gwd ?

Virtus wand w/ barrage got nerfed recently. Torva should be good, good bit more defence than Bandos. Generally, don't try to safe too far, and if you need more health, use a shield for a bit.

Just went bandos with torva body and legs and ising drygore mace and got tassets, need more prayer pots though and less food. Had to leave as was crashed by a group of 2.

You can also buy your own instance for 250k an hour where only you can go in. It ends if you log early though.

maybe someone can answer these for me:

 

do I survive more with Torva or Virtus (stay more at bandos with less food/prayer)?

 

Is it worth it to have full Torva instead of only legs and chest (rest bandos) ?

 

Worth it to grab full virtus inclusive of wand and book now that its crashing ?

 

Worthed as offhand to have divine with drygore mace or virtus wand ?

I don't know for sure because barrage + wand combo got nerfed recently, and barrage alone a few weeks before that. I think it would be best to stick with full Torva + drygores now, unless you can upgrade to virtus + seismic wand + orb.

 

Divine is not worth it.

heard that seismic wand and orb have same damage as virtus wand + book ...

 

it is worthed to have the full Torva set ? ( at present am missing the gloves)

 

as regards to Virtus I have the full set except the wand and book and still deciding if to go for them or not,.,....

From what I have concluded, Ability damage is limited by your Wand/book's tier, but your autoattack is not. So it depends on whether or not you use momentum. If you do, then Seismic is probably not worth it.

I've been doing bando/zammy with chaotic staff instead of wands. I'm finding it lasts alot longer with staff and abilities instead of duel wield momentum. I usually only bring 5 food a trip and then 6 ovl and renewal then a yak of pray pots. After every kill use regenerate and you barely use any food and get way to many food drops.

What abilities do I use and in what order ? Read that after patch they are not using momentum but abilities.........Have full virtus with wand/book and arcane stream ammy .....

Concentrated blast > Combust > Impact > Conc. blast > Wrack > Chain > Asphyxiate > Conc. Blast > whatever's free > Wild magic.

 

Something like that, prioritize tresholds, conc. blast, impact, combust.

i priortize chain and impact instead of combust since generals are imune to stun you get the 188% damage every hit with impact, and chain for killing minions almost at same time as boss.

Last spot is regenerate. After asphixiate back to #2 for chain, by the time you get back to wild graardor and 2 minions should be dead with third almost dead or dead already depending on chains

for these abilities does it make a difference if using chaotic staff or virtus wand and book as I shall be using the virtus combo........ is momentum really nerfed ? was going to try ice and blood barrage....does it matter which one to put on mh or ofhand ?

Momentum was never really in a competitive position against abilities in the first place, barrage was the only thing that Momentum was actually useful to any degree.

 

With regards to abilities, DW and staff differ in 1 ability: Concentrated Blast and Sonic Wave. General consensus is that Concentrated blast is much better than Sonic wave, since you can time your wrack at the same time as the second concentrated blast hit.

 

If it does make a difference, equip Bloodfire Barrage in the MH and Ice barrage in the OH.

now I need to do the boss and will try to use abilities michel recommended :) so without barrage I really dont need to take any runes right ?
