The_Bug
So it's been a long time since I really trained slayer, long before EOC. I've been told I can pratically mage every task now and was just wondering if that is a decent way to go about it, not looking to be 100% efficient but I also don't want to do the opposite. If so, what's a decent gear set to buy for mage slaying? I can spend probably about 100m-120m on armour and weapons so try to keep it around that range please. Thanks. Wkw
Mage isn't by far the BEST thing for EVERY task, especially if you only have ~120m max to spend But, if you insist, get ahrims wand and book, and full virtus. The_Bug
What combat style would you suggest using? I'm just going by what I hear people saying in clan chats and general public chat. I really have no idea lol I also have more than 120m that's just what I would've liked to have spent.
Wkw
1. buy drygores (150m or so)2. get royal crossbow or chaotics (less than 1m)3. buy ahrims wand/book (10m?)4. buy a set of bandos, armadyl, and subjugation (73m)And then attack the monsters based on their weakness Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum
Stev
My opinion: Make some money at GWD or KK with that 120M first. If your display name is as it is in your TIF profile, I'm assuming you've done WGS. Gone down, own some Tormented Demons for some very fast cash. It honestly will not take long and the experience you get doing Tormented Demons is very worth it. Get it up to where you can buy full virtus (including the wand [if not, use ahrims]) and be able to comfortably spend a few bucks. Blood barrage (damn near) every task with momentum. Make sure you group up the monsters. The tasks you can't blood-barrage/momentum are very few and far between. Use a demonhorn necklace for prayer (if not fighting an ash-drop monster), turn on torment and go to town. You won't find faster slayer XP, but it's rather costly. Quyneax
Blood barraging every task won't get you very fast xp. Most high-xp monsters aren't sufficiently clustered to barrage, especially the 2x2 monsters. Barrage dps isn't that great either. It used to be very good because off-hand barrage would do full damage. If you want to get the fastest xp, you want the highest-tier weapons, ideally seismic wand and orb (over 3b gp together), but dual ascensions also work (500m?), as do drygores (150m). You can barrage a few tasks, but for the most part stick to abilities, any combat style will do really. For mage slaying, full virtus (full slayer helmet over mask) with chaotic staff is nice, virtus wand and book is better but costs 250m more. Th e Doctor
Stev's advice on TD's is solid. I would say do that for a few dragon limbs drops so that you can afford a set of drygore and bandos with a FSH. With t9 weapons you can ignore monster weaknesses on task with the exception of ganodermics and ascensions. You'll do fine with t7 for mage (treachery and ahrims book) and t8 for range (royal crossbow) and drygores will get you through everything else. Follow the spreadsheet hedge linked with the exception of doing Aviansies at Arma GWD, greaters at Zammy GWD, black dragons at QBD or KBD, Kalphites at KK to make slayer much much more profitable to level/changing the pace from traditional slaying if you choose to. You don't have to do those tasks at those bosses but I personally found it much more enjoyable to level slayer that way.
