Make7upu101
Having this be my first firday off for wrestling in four months I decided to do something fun. I wanted to try and make a few friends. I have a few kids that I talk to during lunch that invited me to go to yoga with them today at the YMCA right outside my neighborhood. I was a little late (went on a run) so I was going a few miles over the limit. I get to this section of our neighborhood thats the last few yards till the main street. Stopsigns on all sides so who wouldent go a little fast? BAM a cop hiding on the side turns his lights on and has me pull over. Turns out I was going 15 m.p.h over the limit and I just recieved my first ticket. I now have a few choices- 1.Go to court and try and get it dissmissed 2. Take a class or 3. Pay the ticket and get the points on my license What my dad told me we're going to do is talk to one of his friends that's a lawyer and try to see what we can do. I just don't want my clean record dirttied (sp?) I'v never even been talked to by a cop before. By the way I am not a bad driver. They caught my mom in the exact same area a couple of days ago. On my way back I saw he had another one. It's been this way for awhile a whole bunch of people I know have been caught. Any ideas on what I should do? Also I need some people to just rant with me about how low speed limits are in some neighborhoods. The limit was 25. It seems like I can ride my bike faster than 25. rocketman089
15 over in a 25 zone is a lot, reckless even. I'd say take the class, sounds like you need some learnin. Speed limits aren't there to give cops something to do, especially in a residential area where kids can seemingly pop out of nowhere (like cops...). tintmangbpack
I don't know where you got the idea that going 15 mph over the speed limit in a residental area makes you a good driver. Who cares about if you thought since there were stop signs it is safe, what would have happened if a kid ran out in the street. There is no way you would ever get this overturned in a hearing. Take the class so you can learn how to drive safely. Your true character is what you are like when you believe there are no repercussions.
Peter
I'd take the class if it stays off your record. Traffic school is no biggy. Yeah, 15 over is a lot in a 25, thats like pretty fast. Yeah I tend to speed though, really shouldn't but until I get caught I won't learn my lession I guess. I just know where they hide and where it's acceptable to get away with. They go out at 6 in the morning about a block away from my house right out of a couple of stopsigns and wait for the housewives to drive in the middle of the road or go 50 in a 25 to work or something. Just have to keep an eye out and be careful.
weezcake
40 in a residential area is dangerous, may I add. Going to the traffic school is 6 hours. But hey, it gets wiped off your record if you do so, I believe. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring. Make7upu101
I understand that I may not be the best driver but I live in an area with lots and lots of long roads with houses far back and long driveways (country bumkin). These cops are catching people like flies. I went around the corner and when I came back he had another mom in a minivan. My dad said when he came home he saw the cop with another person. I didn't know traffic school was only six hours that dosent seem bad at all. Probably just boring.
Mercifull
Almost double the speed limit. No sympathy, serves you right Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. ____
Almost double the speed limit. No sympathy, serves you rightI do 110 in 50 areas sometimes. No sympathy for me if I get caught. I'd loss my licence right there. Wouldn't even get to court. If you ask me, you were lucky it wasn't a lot worse.
