Random Audio Loss

I've been noticing that after a while I lose all "normal" audio. Things like combat sounds, equipment sounds, etc are just gone until I close out of the client and then open it again. I've noticed that "ambient" sounds like rivers rushing, birds chirping etc seem to be unaffected.

 

Has anyone else seen something like this?

Used to happen often. I now no longer use the audio too often.

@wioneo, you might want to identify what mode you're playing RuneScape in.  That way, some people who come to this thread aren't confused when they read and feel left unable to post back in response. ;)

I forgot that runesacpe sounds even existed xD I believe there is quite a few audio options tho if you press escape

I play with the client instead of the standard browser version if that's what you mean.

I think you'd only be confused if you are unsure of what the glitch is. It happens regardless of what modes or game settings you're running. 

 

It happens a lot and seemingly for no reason. What's the worst is where it gets stuck on one sound and just plays that over and over @_@

Happens to me whenever I turn off "Music" but leave "Sound Effects" and "Ambient Sounds" on.

a million times yes!

What I was particularly looking for was whether the game was in HTML5 mode or in Java mode at the time of the audio loss issues.  Basically, if it isn't working in one form, try using the other to see if it improves anything. :geek:

It happens in both versions because it's not a problem with either Java or HTML5 but how streamed audio works, which many people have suffered from since the audio update last year.
