srt252
I have 57 runecrafting and my best way to make money is spending hours upon hours doing the long journey to entrana, and in the end after about 3 hours of work i make 300k, and i truly think 1k law runes should be worth more after all the work i put it to make then, and i am overcome with curiosity by exactly HOW people can make 300k per hour like the author mentions? Also, puddin_tane, did you happen to hear that story about how these items from games is taxable on NPR? Thats where i heard it, and i thought it was very interesting. caleban
my take on the recent bans was that the majority of them were involved in making money in REAL LIFE viaa cheating macroing scamming in rs this really is a bad thing and im glad jagex took this stance. bear in mind, banning members does cost jagex money, they lose their membership fees, so they arent going to do it lightly. clayton_2003
I have 57 runecrafting and my best way to make money is spending hours upon hours doing the long journey to entrana, and in the end after about 3 hours of work i make 300k, and i truly think 1k law runes should be worth more after all the work i put it to make then, and i am overcome with curiosity by exactly HOW people can make 300k per hour like the author mentions?... You must not be doing it right if it takes you 3 hours to make 1k law runes! - you should be able to use the first 3 pouches, and by using them you should be able to make 43 law runes per trip, also if you take a glory ammy and teleport to draynor after you bind your runes then it goes a little faster...usually I can make 1k law runes (36 each trip with the large pouch) and pick up about 700 seaweed (25 each trip) and that will take me about 3 hours. If you don't think that timewise you are doing very well, try a new skill....crafting, smithing, and fletching are easy skills to make money (by high alching what you make)! puddin_tane
Also, puddin_tane, did you happen to hear that story about how these items from games is taxable on NPR? Thats where i heard it, and i thought it was very interesting. Nah. I read about the IRS taxing virtual items from a site called "fark" of all places. LOL! Some guy sold a World Of Warcraft, Space Station for something like a hundred thousand, on ebay. The IRS took notice, of course.
srt252
Hmm, yes well another reason it may take me so long is because i am distracted so easily, after a couple dozen trips to entrana i hear my xbox beckoning, and have to go kill some grunts :D, and ive been using the glory to go to draynor after crafting the laws, and using the games necklace to go recharge it every 172 laws, or 4 trips (just thinking about the giant pouch and gettin 1k laws in under 20 runs...) and yet it still takes a while... it makes me wish there was an "entrana teleport" or something... i really need to find a better way of making money, the same trip to entrana so many times can get a little... dull. By the way, puddin_tane, i did very much enjoy the taxable virtual money story, even though i heard it on NPR, i was very much surprised to find out that the IRS could get involved when you, oh say, got a dragon half shield from a steel dragon or that such. PlutoniumCross
Just finished reading the article. I disagree with it mainly. Firstly, in the REAL WORLD, the economy is never friendly or half ethical. You can either be stinkin rich and buy whatever you want to buy, or you can be ethical and never know what its like to be a millionaire in your whole life. Many people call merchants "[bleep] of gp" who have no ethics, but you do realise theirs millions of the exact same people on wall street everyday? Buyin stocks/shares/options etc for low and selling high? When you make money from stocks/shares/options, it is directly made out of making some other stock/share/option holder loose money. How would the other guy feel? I can honestly say, after retiring, that I have made a good portion of my money (10-20m up), from various acts some people would consider "unethical", such as getting noobs to fletch yew bows for free, getting noobs to smelt my steel bars into cannonballs, and other "phree exp" strategies. But how did Bill Gates made his billions? From being nice to his competitors' mothers and cooking them christmas hams? No. He bought up and dismantled all of the companies whom he considers "infidels". Had he been nice to the competitors, Bill Gates would never have had the software monopoly hes having right now, and probably wouldn't have a thousandth of what he has today (considering how annoying bad windows really is, the only reason windows is so popular is through Gate's insane marketing "merchanting" and unethical strategies) These kids who get ripped off in RS, are gonna grow up, turn around, and realise that the real world is not nice either. If they manage to learn this lesson, they would be taking their first step to enlightenment, and thus making rs a good teacher after all. And also, I would like to say something on skills. Skills bring money into the economy, sure. Skills don't take money off other people, sure. However both these things would be classified as CONTERFEITING MONEY in rl, and lets look at the insane inflation in runescape compared to real life. During the time when TB first got released, hundreds of thousands of players started alching millions of bows. Suddenly the economy has twice the gp it used to have. Now had the rares not been there to take the price hike, gps would be worth only half what they did before tb, which means everything wouldve jumped by 2 times its original value. http://www.soundclick.com/rztheheretic
jconnelly1
At the end, the article mentions on different ways of making large sums of money in a short period. Any suggestions on how i could do this? I currently make my money by collecting dragon scales in large amounts and selling them on the grand exchange. It takes a lot of time but helps that i have over 70 agility and can use the shortcut to where the scales are located.
