March 13, 200620 yr Ok, I've been thinking about this for abit now... You always see people in topics saying stuff like "You are the biggest spammer. ever" or "Interesting topic..." Well, how about awards for those few who deserve those sort of replies? Every so often (maybe 1 month?) we could vote for these in a topic. In this topic you just put "I nominate for [Reason*]" Then we leave the thread for X amount of time at which point person(s) can tally the votes and then put it to a final vote in poll form where links are inserted so the voters can see the thread. Once the voting has completed the person can be marked as the winner of the vote by any ways. This may be a special signature banner, special rank for X amount of time etc... *Could be: Random question, Funniest picture/video, Biggest spam etc... Anyone like this idea?
March 13, 200620 yr I like the idea, but I am very afraid of what people ould do in order to win the biggest scammer award  Your true character is what you are like when you believe there are no repercussions.
March 13, 200620 yr Same, but people would make threads in order to win the prize. They will be pointless and nobody will enjoy discussing or even reading. Sorry, this doesn't get my vote. -Mitch- New sig to come!
March 13, 200620 yr We do this at another forum too, it's quite fun. It's a fun thing to do, but don't take it too serious. I even think we did this a while ago at scapeboard. Nominations like biggest forum troll, best newbie and so. It's quite cool. :P They do it once a year there though, once a month is a bit too much, I think. March 13, 200620 yr I even think we did this a while ago at scapeboard. Yep i remember this. I think it was more general board (runescape) involved though.
March 13, 200620 yr I wouldn't be opposed to it :) but the data used to determine who wins these awards would have to stop when we start voting. For example, if I post something after the votes start, it wouldn't count, that way people can't see what the "areas" to win are and then try and win. It would be based on who we have always been as posters.
March 13, 200620 yr Author Hmm yeah, I was wondering about the time issue, its just that 1 month seems really quick yet 1 year seems fairly far away. How about instead of the biggest spammer just the fastest ban? But, its nice to see some views on it. Feedback ftw ^^.
March 13, 200620 yr You could do it quarterly or biannually, either one might be a little more fun hen just once a year. Insanes, idea was a good one that way we wouldn't be getting a bunch of people faking it. Maybe a good way, would have people be nominated and then we would vote on those, nominations would be from mods, or other respected players. But there would have to be no mention of doing these awards until after all the people were nominated that way there would be any body faking it. Your true character is what you are like when you believe there are no repercussions.
March 13, 200620 yr Author I see how whether telling if a post would count towards a possible award or not could be difficult. But if people genuinely cared that they wanted to get their information, thought, whatever across - they would post it anyway. I dont post here with questions or information for reputation, I do it to share my knowledge or view.
March 13, 200620 yr Quarterly would be preaty fun :) . I could see it as fun if people didn't get too worked up 'bout it.

March 14, 200620 yr Author *cough*winnersgetsarankchange*cough* *cough* errr.. excuse me... I was thinking about that... Maybe a temporary one. Unless there was a special vote for it . Maybe such as "Most random question asker. Spring 2007."

In my clan, we had the same contest and they gave out this tiny mini sigs saying "Most random question asker 2007" for example to the winner. How about that then? Mini siggies are good. Everyone likes mini sigs! People who dont are bad people. Bad people dont like mini sigs... They're allergic to it. Which is good for us good people! Err... im just spamming now, I have better nothing to do in my spring break this year... *sigh* The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. The only problem with that would be if the recipient has the room to use it in his signature >_>. Then he may have won in vain xD.
March 15, 200620 yr Or you could make a little banner and put it under the avatar, or change what the are, for example instead of bear fur it would be biggest spammer or something like that. Your true character is what you are like when you believe there are no repercussions.

TET and tip.it staff members have something like that. But im starting to get the idea that its kinda frowned upon for some reason... March 15, 200620 yr At the FOK! forum they use avatars like this. Winnaar means winner. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
March 15, 200620 yr Author At the FOK! forum they use avatars like this. Winnaar means winner. The problem with that is if someone is already using an avatar they like...

They are called 'ranks' It's not that's frowned upon it's just that the admins don't want to hand out more than is necessary.
March 16, 200620 yr I like this idea. Maybe someone could design an avatar/signature featuring some sort of statue (like a golden globe) and each winner would get the avatar/sig but with different text. Most Random Poster Award '06 for example.
