F2P Have Nothing! Give Us Rights!

Featured Replies

i just can't see why f2pers aren't happy with what they have... i really can't. even greed has it's limits.

I was, and still am (still awaiting my membership to kick back in :)).

Raichase, quit Runescape.

Time issues really, nothing against the game itself. Something had to go, and it happened to be the addictive game that costs money to enjoy :)

Best of luck to all of my friends here!

non-members, i know how each and every one of you feel. i was the one sending letters to jagex asking them to open more paying options, because i didn't have visa, or money on paypal, or whatever 'x' reason it was back at the time. instead of blaming jagex̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî for not updating f2p and only updating p2p, you should thank them for opening up more and more payment options availble to players all across the world. after all, as some of the people said, it IS only a trial version of the game, and it IS fun for couple of MONTHS (months, not days) , when it gets to the point when you simply have to go to members. i mean, come on, 5 bucks a months is nothing. most of you non-members out there probably spend 5 bucks a DAY at school buying different kinds of candy or whatsoever, or just buying things from the dollar store that you will throw away the next day. anyway, members is really worth it, it's almost as ripping off jagex for charging too little :P.eh, nothing like a little joke to brighten your day. but for being too little i AM serious, anyone can afford 5 bucks :S

thanks :D

its same thing with f2p beggars. giv them 1k, they ask for 10k. giv them 10k ,they ask for 100k. that's when i turn my back to them and block them.

greed doesn't stops. never, or until your learned your lesson. we should be contented with what we have. seriously. if you guys ask for more, jagex would most probably be the one turning the back on us. what next? no more f2p and weee, everyone learns their lessons. But no more chance. and i will then switch to other games and eradicate every ex-f2p runescape who complained and cost me my f2p acc.

I'm a f2p player, I always was and always will be. I don't mind the lack of updates on the f2p I think we have a lot allready. It would be nice if they updated it a bit more but I don't really care. I made the choice of not paying so it's up to me. 5 dollar is not much money so if I wanted too I would pay.

The reason that I don't pay is that I don't have enough time to put into this game, and if I would pay I would be forcing me to play more, neglecting my other duties. So it's not a good idea for me ;)

I also think jagex will never stop with the f2p part of the game. Because it is their main source of where paying players come from. everybody started out as f2p. I don't think most of the members would even consider playing this game if they had to pay from the start.

I have played for well over a year, and am not a member. I don't "power level", or that kind of stuff. I think that all of us should give Jagex a big hand for giving us basically a full game for free!!!! What are we whining about? Jagex has updated the game enough for me. I was so happy with the clothes and other things. If you do not like the f2p game, quit whining, or pay the 60 bucks every year.

Ok I agree with both sides on this. I've been members for 2 months(My mom won't let me get it :( )and it's awsome and I loved castle wars but know I'm f2p and I can't play it anymore. Well anyways, f2p does need something else to do....... Maybe one more big quest or something to do. I've been done with the f2p quests for about a year and a half now and I'm level 93 and it's kind of getting boring logging on cutting yews, training, or mining coal. But I know it's just a free *demo* of the p2p game but still. Jagex could make something else for f2pers.

If you really, REALLY think about it, f2p does get updated quite a bit. Not like with quests, skills, and powerful items, but most of the random events and ALL BUT TWO emotes have been f2p. In fact, event the randoms that give clothes and other cool items are f2p.

Plus, they even added another item for us today, the Yin-Yang Ammulet. No stat "bonusaii" (lol sorry I had to use it), but it looks great, perhaps the largest ammulet I have seen.

Plus, they do occasionally add weapons and stuff to balance game play. For instance, I remember shortly after I started training range in like 2005, Jagex noted the underpowered rangers in f2p, and added willow and maple bows, and arrows up to addy arrows; prior to this, f2p only had oak bows and steel arrows.

Also, they even updated a f2p quest this month; Romeo and Juliet. It now has about 2-3 cutscenes, more NPC's (Juliet's father, her cousin, and two sleeping churchgoers), and have redone the model for the existing NPC's.

Not to mention they added enemies using ranged attacks (Falador Bow and Crossbow Guards, Barbarian Bowsman), and completely revamped over half of the non-Wilderness f2p world.

As if THAT weren't enough, they are even kind enough to let f2p enjoy ALL of the rewards for holiday events so far.

Jagex gives plenty to use, you just have to be a tad bit observant.

If you aren't paying for the service you really have no room to complain about it. You have many quality things you can do as a f2p, much more than any other MMORPG. If you really are bothered with the lack of content in f2p, try paying for what you want.

You get the occasional update and that's fine. Any updates are a specialty to f2p, if you aren't paying for something and getting it in return you should be grateful. It's like complaining that the waiter was slow whenever you were getting free dinner.

now I'm f2p and I can't play it anymore.

Oh, if I had a dollar for every time I had read this, and predicted whats to follow...

Whats going to happen now, is he is going to say "I think F2P should get some more stuff, because I'm bored as a F2P'er. Therefore, they should have more stuff.

You know, no ACTUAL reasoning, aside from "I want it".

Best of luck to all of my friends here!

I'm going to say my peace and then this gets locked.

I've been a F2Per for a while. From 2002 to I think the latter half of 2004.

I joined because I wanted to fletch my own arrows, and I did just that when I first logged on to a member world.

I'm going to guess that a majority of F2P whiners have a common thought: 'Mom/Dad/whoever won't let me get members!" Get a job. Make an impassioned argument that you can play as a member but won't neglect things like chores, schoolwork, or even just plain exercise. Make your case how Runescape is much cheaper than most MMORPGs and that it is a small investment for a little entertainment.

I am a parent. Granted, my child is far from being old enough to play but I can understand concerns that an online game is going to be a time-waster. I remember that it was easier to come and go when I was F2P, even forget about it for a little while.

This game is addictive. Any little incentive to get away from that isn't a bad thing, in my opinion. Otherwise, pay the money and enjoy.

The only thing that I can see f2pers getting besides new random events is team capes and team speak. Many clans that have p2p members hold their PKing on f2p worlds. If clans were able to demonstrate that this would draw in new memberships, then I might see it happening. I am guessing this is still considered a membership benefit.
