sheepdean Posted March 18, 2006 Share Posted March 18, 2006 Here is the scenario: i am merrily killing chickens for their lovely bones and feathers, and a level 70-something comes into the pen. he asks if he can buy my dbaxe, which i subsequently agree to. he offers 160k, and i inform him that i won't sell it for any less than 200k. I am instantaneously bombarded with claims of being a noob, and that i am homosexual. another scenario: i am walking off to ardougne, wearing my nice and shiny granite shield. somone approaches me, and offers me to trade my shield for his, a fremnik one. I pleasently tell him that his shield does not give as big a bonus as mine, nor is it tradble. He persists that they have an equal bonus, and he will drop trade the shield if i wish. i say that my shield will not be sold for less than 100k in cash or 120k in items.... and get called a noob scenario 3: 2 players are training next to me on al-kharid guards, and are both being pleasent to me, like the majhority or RS players. one of the two then gets a evil chicken, and dies. i had lagg at the time, and didnt manage to get any of his items except his bones and about 3k in cash, whereas my comrade in training gets everything else and runs off to the bank. the recently departed then returns from his trip to falador, and demands all of his stuf back, and when i subsequently returned all i had obtrained (except the bones, which i had buried), he demanded all of his stuff. I calmly explained that I had not obtained anything except what i had given him (and please remember that i had no obligation to return anything at all), and that the secvond player had taken everything else. He disbelieved me, and told me i was many short words, and ..... a noob Anyone think that any of these verbal assaults were neccesary? Back by popular demand!And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all. Somtimes high level (100+; I'm level 92) players just come up to me, start following me, and calling me a noob. Yeah, that has actually happened. And today I was a noob for trying to buy 2k fires at 20k because they go for twice as much on the forums. Well sorry... but I'm not a rich snob who has enough money not to care to be ripped off. Anways... then I went to the magic guild and managed to find a full stock, and bought the 2k for 4-11 gp each - and 80% of those were under 10 gp ea, which is what I wanted to buy them for originally. I've gotten called a noob for not selling my whip/obby shield/obby cape/excetra/excetra, declining a 'good' offer of items for somthing I am trying to sell (because I'm trying to sell the item for cash... not get more items to sell...) and many other things. The ignore list is my friend. Or, better yet so I don't clog up the list that should be used to block out players who use abusive speech or scammers, I just ignore them alltogeher. I teled to ardy today to farm and this guy starts following me askign to buy my legends cape. I tell him twice its untradable, and calls me a noob.
