What happened to the quests

i hope someone from jagex reads this.

i remember a day. i remember a day when all skills involved in runescape revolved around becoming a better fighter this was reflected in the quests where all events lead up to fighting a superior beast. i believe that we are heading into a sad period of misdirection where characters are lvl 6 and are only concerned with making money to buy a yellow party hat. In my day people used to charge their prayer and fight to their demise above varrock. and trading their meager wins hoping to one day purchase a mith scimmy. readers, i pose this question do you think that runescape is a rpg that revolves around combat or general character betterment.

dont get me wrong on chararcter my average lvl is circa 61. with a highest lvl of 78.

Mmm, and when exactly was "your day"?

That's what i'm wondering :?

Makes three of us.

Fourth.

But besides that many people are complaining about the game. You simply need to be secure in the fact that you are playing the game for playing the game and not to "buy a yellow partyhat". Be happy with that and consort with those who want to do the same. If you can try to convince the "level 6"'s to learn to play the game by actually playing it and not focusing on money making.

Edit: w00t 500th post!

I think Jagex is focused on creating a fun inviroment to do whatever you find fun. So if you find building a character up fun, then do that and I'm sure you'll find friends along the way that feel the same. And if you find making money fun then by all means do that. The cool thing about RS is there are so many venues to explore that you can focus on one, some or all of them, its entirely up to you. I personally like to dabble a little in everything save player killing. I like well rounded characters.

It is a normal evolution

In the beigning there was combat and that was about it hence its overal supierior nature

But with time the rest of the system evolved

I think its now geared to be a social community in whcih people can de velop social skills, self motvation and targetting skills to achieve uniquness within and much more controlled medium than rl

Plus the skills learnt trnasfer across.

Its is like the real world

When humnas first appeared as cave people we fought alot of stuff and tht was about it, but voer time we have developed many other talents and ways in whihc to create uniquness

All I think has happened is that runescape has developed into as near to realistic as your gonna get out of an mmorpg

Why does it matter anyway? The way Jagex created the game or how it turned out is that it doesn't matter what you do, you do what you want to do. Everythings open ended, you do whats fun or you do whats needed I.E cooking to cook a lobster.

All in all, Jagex created RuneScape just so people who don't have anything to do in their spare time can play a MMORPG. What ever people want to do, they can do. If they do something against the rules, they'll get banned.
