Yea, it is another buyer beware post, but they do help. Some people may not pay attention, but I know that I read some about people changing magic logs for willows. The other day I was selling my d sq, someone afford a good amount of money along with over 1k magic logs. They declined first time and traded again, but this timethe logs were "magically" willow logs instead. Now maybe, I would have made sure to check the second screen, but in the back of my mind, that post popped up and I made sure to check both screen.

 

 

 

Sorry to hear about your loss, I'm sure you'll get the money back in no time....and maybe you'll meet up with that scammer sometime in the wildy for a little "talk" about things. :twisted:

I was fortunate to only lose 25k on an item switch scam, but it -was- back when 25k was a lot of money to me :\ (I had been saving for a rune pick, was 4k away from buying it from the shop, and got scammed trying to buy it (addy pick \= rune pick) :( Fortunatly it was only 25k for me.... and a friend of mine gave me a rune pick when he heard-he had just gotten it in a level 3 clue 0.0 So it ended up not being the end of the world, but it was saddening)

 

 

 

Either way, that's evil... May the scammer get pked in the wildy and lose all that (s)he gained. And more. May they be reported and quit. Or be banned. IP banned.

that was probably this kid at my school... he told me he scamms like that. but i cant report him because you cant report item switch scamming =/ thats why theres a 2nd window..

 

I report switchers EVERY single time they attempt it, and if they get me, which has only happened once and i only lost a few hundred k when i was unaware of switch scamming.

 

 

 

Anyways sorry to hear your loss, I understand your excitement to try it out and use it, i was very excited when i bought my whip and dharoks, but i will always look at the second screen intensivly, infact i will calculate if im paying the right price quite a few times before i press accept. I made a promise to myself and to my friends that after the first time i got scammed(mentioned above) that i would never be scammed again, so far i have kept that promise by always thouroughly checking when buying and selling.

what a load, ive always said, make the spear untradable, but then people are like blah blah blah, i was just trying to help someone out from gettin scammed but since the people who are anxious get hurried, they get scammed.

I got switch scammed the other day - they changed 750 bow strings for 750 willow unstrung longbows! I felt a right idiot, but just picked 800 flax, so it wasn't too disasterous. I feel really sorry for you, especially since 5M to me is 5 times as much as i have now.

I'm sure you'll get the money back in no time..

 

 

 

Yeah..how?! :? Getting from 6Mil to 12Mil wasn't a problem, but getting from 0 to 6Mil.. I'm fishing sharks atm, I'm thinkin I'll sell when I get 1,000, buy 50~ Prayer pots and try my luck at Barrows..

Fletch yew longs. Buy the materials for 450 ea (or less), sell 600 ea. It will take ages, but you get exp too.

He's talking about the slayer items you buy from a Slayer Master, not the Barrows sets.
