I want to know which bow is better, longbows cost more so people think they are better, but this topic will decide which is better

It dosn't really even need discussion, every body knows shortbows are better due to the speed. If you wanna prove this wrong, dm someone with a shortbow vs your longbow.

That pretty much covers it.

Shortbows are far superior, even with the update a while ago that increased the energy required for a shortbow special attack.

I didn't notice much, if any, of a power drop-off. The speed of shortbows is fantastic (especially on rapid). Don't know anyone that's tried both and prefers longbows.

a shortbow would be better, due to speed.

There are only 2 places i would use a longbow, the wild, i would have shortbow as a main weapon but incase the mage gets out of shortbow range i would switch to that and the other is the ranging minigame with the targets, since speed of your bow doesn't matter it doesn't make sense to have a faster weapon with a lower range bonus, but overall, stick to the shortbow

The longbow is a sniper's weapon, used from cover against a target only just in range, or against a fleeing target. Also useful for "collecting" a target.

 

 

 

Against anything that either cannot hit you, or is already well within range, the shortbow is faster - forget the "longrange" style unless you really want to train defence.
