Stupidest things you've gotten grounded for?

Featured Replies

The stupidest thing I got grounded for happened the day I hit manhood. Feeling pumped full of manly energy, I marched to the kitchen and demanded a bacon sandwich in basso profundo. I realized we didn't have any bacon, so I decided to go to the shops. Being a man, you know, doors were a thing of the past. So instead of using the front door, I took a detour through the living room french windows, and marched right through them. Following the resounding crash came a cry of, "YOU'RE GROUNDED!" from my mom. Didn't let me go out until they got replacement window panes. But I was only doing what men do. WTF is that?

Didn't get grounded a single time growing up.

If my brother and I got in trouble, our mom would go up to the computer and rip a random cord out and take it in the car with her when she went out shopping, etc. It usually ended up being the speaker power cord, so we would sit there, wait till she drove away, and then just use the computer without sound...

One time she picked the living room TV up, hauled it outside, and threw it down the hill in our front yard.

Other than that... no grounding. :-)

Riku, your childhood story reminds me of how I made out with a girl on a waterbed when I was six*. Why are children such pimps?

OT: I accidentally snapped a Coco Chanel bracelet my mom managed to get for ~1/10th its true value in half. Being a 12 year old I taped it back together with scotch tape and figured that would be enough. She disagreed.

The only difference between Hitler and the man next door who comes home and beats his kids every day is circumstance. The intent is the same-- to harm others.

[hide=Tifers say the darndest things]

I told her there was a secret method to doing it - and there is - but my once nimble and agile fingers were unable to perform because I was under the influence.

I would laugh, not hate. I'm a male. :(

Since when was Ireland an island...? :wall:

I actually have a hobby of licking public toilet seats.

Was ages ago, but when I was much younger and in highschool I was grounded for buying an iPod Video. Worked my buns off all summer to make the money for it, and my father didn't approve of me paying that much for a "silly little cd player you'll barely use" when in his opinion i should be saving it for something he approved of. Was grounded for at least 3-4 months for that (although my parent's weren't overly good at enforcing that).

Still use my iPod almost every day (good investment) and now both my parents have one... Funny how that works.
