Abyssmal Demons No Ring Of Wealth Experiment!

It's easy to track of a Ring of Wealth works or not. Track rare drops.

No, not the 1 in 400 rares like abyssal whips, but all of the rare drops.

Gems (saphires, emerald, ruby, diamond), Half Keys, Dragon Mediums and NOTHING. Remember, NOTHING is a rare drop.

Now, team up with 5 to 10 other guys. Have all of them track their drops (very easy if you use the forums). When you build up a 20k drop database, switch to the ROW for another 20k drop database.

Look at the Drop Rates, has the NOTHING drop rate decreased 20%? If so, then you proved right there the Ring of Wealth works in accordance to that 3 year old Letter from the Gods post by Guthix.

When it comes to abbys, gems and nothings are not rare drops at all.

You misunderstand the term. There's rare in the real sense, such as a very infrequent drop. Then there's rare in the Jagex sense, meaning the item is tagged as "rare" for drop purposes and will be affected via the Ring of Wealth.

Ive gotten 2 dmeds so far with my trusty dueling ring (one after 2.4k Fg's and the other after 8k fg's)

and unfortunately you missed out on a third because you pray to the gods for your dragon med, as opposed to looking at well established facts and wearing the ring of wealth.

Here's the deal I can get 4 abby capes in 20 Tzhaar kills while wearing a wedding ring and I can kill 1000 tzhaars with wealth on and get none. Until you can REALLY believe that, you won't find as much success in getting drops as those who do

This is just your personal opinion. I think you should keep a detailed drop list, detailed down to how many coins you got for each coin drop. Maybe kill 1k with, 1k without. After that, you total up everything and have a percent drop and a total of everything (well, 2 totals, 1 for each catagory). That's just me though, I'm working on a troll one with more than 1k kills that should be ready for all you tip.iters in a month or two.

Jagex has confirmed many times that ROW gives 20% better chance of RARE drops, it doesn't affect normal drops such as runes and coins except for the few extra rare drops. But then again Jagex have said they fixed the death bug, but people are still die-ing a lot, at least 4-5 an hour still. I've never done anything besides quests without a ROW, but now that you're mentioning it, I haven't exactly had great drops with it, about 5k fg's, rarest drop is half key and about 100 rune scimmies, never had any other piece of rune, I always wandered why I never got a single other rune weapon. When I start doing slayer again I'll try not using ROW, but that won't be for a few months now...:(

A while ago, I sent a "support query" about this and here's the answer I recieved.

apparently I'm not supposed to show what it said so I'll tell you in my own words;p It will increase the chances of getting a better drop. The % increase of this event occurring cannot be disclosed and must be tested through trial of the item.

No.. you misunderstand... Nothing and gems are NOT rare, as in they are dropped quite frequently, if you had 85 slayer for months you would understand ffs.

If you'd read the replies you might've known

As far as I know, some monsters have a set of items which count as "rare" drops. The RoW increases chances of "valuable" rare drops, where valuable means "worth a lot of gp when sold to a shop".

There are ofcourse exceptions: it will not affect drop rates of gems and halves.

Also, it's effect is rather small, and the randomness of the drop system is, well, random, so only extremely large scale tests would provide accurate info.

Why would they invent it if it does nothing?.

My friend reckoned it was because they just couldnt think of anything else for dragonstone ring :?

It also could be a trick to reverse the number of good drops so people don't get as rich so quickly?

what is a row?

If you don't have hundreds of thousands of kills logged with and without a ROW you can't comment with any authority on it's (in)effectiveness. Regardless of whether it works or not your tiny sample is HARDLY proof either way. Not trying to be mean but this topic is as old as the ROW itself and just as inneffectively debated now as then.

talk about arguing

this has been posted by a jagex mod before... what the ROW does is make it so you get more coins, gems, half keys, and half shields.

thus... all your other drops go down.

i wish that post was still on tip it from the glory days.

I gained 85 slayer yesterday....killed abbys for about 8 hours with beserker ring. Best drop was cut d stone. Put wealth on for about 1 hour and took it off and alched it because I hate that ring so much. Bought a warrior ring today and got 4 whip drops in less then 8 hours with it.

133rd to 91 runecrafting. 212th to 99 runecrafting - 145th to 99 construction

Whip drops: 38

Dark Bow drops: 12

Owner of fire cape: 7/30/06
