May 9, 200620 yr After hearing a few good comments, i decided to make a topic. This is my first abstract sig, i used: Paint.Net It's a free, easy to use program, comparable to photoshop. Rate and give me some c/c.
May 9, 200620 yr I dont think Paint.Net is too comparible to PS. c/c - Looks to me like you did a gradient with a motion blur. :| - Blend the render. Either by smudging it around the edges or feathering it. - Get some good fonts, is that the font Arial? :?
May 9, 200620 yr No feathering in P.N. As with all of my sigs made with P.N, I think this is designed to be simple. The simplicity makes it look cool in some way.. To me anyway. :P

Either by smudging it around the edges or feathering it. - Get some good fonts, is that the font Arial? :? I have no clue wat feathering is, and i have no clue how to add text.. I used photoshop 2-3 times and it's comparable to paint.net!

Feathering is just a little fading out around the edges. To add text: Download the font Copy the TFF file Go to Windows > Fonts Paste the file

I used photoshop 2-3 times and it's comparable to paint.net! Reuse it! Its not comparable... Pain.Net has some tools that PS has, but its far away from being comparable. PS owns hard Paint.Net. ~komodo
May 10, 200620 yr Seems rough, would probably look better if you blended the pic with the bg, added some kind of solid border, and implemented more interesting text/font. Pixel sigs by me.Pixel Art
May 10, 200620 yr yer doesn't seem that difficult, and it is impossible to compare paint.net with ps lol. dafont.com has stacks of fonts, good ones too. off topic is it really abstract? its a render on a stripey border, no offense or anything, i was just wondering at to what the actual definition of it is "A disbelief in magic can force some poor souls into believing in authority and business"
May 10, 200620 yr It's a free, easy to use program, comparable to photoshop. No, it is not comparable. oh and my C/C im new also to abstract (my reason for coming back to this wonderful community) and still learning but thats really plain and simple, where as the idea of an abstract is to be well more dynamic, like in your image ofcourse there is not a focal point, there for its not stable which is good but its so plain i really wouldnt call it "dynamic". summary: make it more interesting and make it more 'dynamic' with more things to catch your eye than just no textured smudge on a plain blue BG. anyway nice start and goodluck in the future with your abstract sigs :)

I agree, and dont agrree with you at the same time If he only used PS 2-3 times, he seriously isnt able to even KNOW what feathering and smudging is Then i agree with you, that the bg is too simple, even for Paint.net Paint.net surely isnt comparable to PS, i have a kinda extroadanary knowledge of Ps and still i dont know it all Then, arial surely isnt a bad font for sigs, if used well, it can perfect the sig, or ruin it, all up to the usage, personnally, i like arial and other basic fonts for texts, mostly on size 12-14 Though, as a beginner with abstracts, i seriously recommend other fonts like: AngryBlue, Abaddon etc..

Yes a nice Arial or pixelly font at about size 8 can just look nice. Especially on my other sig for a forum: (Sorry I just really like it. ^_^) But I dont recommend AngryBlue ><;
May 10, 200620 yr ^ I normall use 'Visitor' size 10/12 for my quote's font, but Arial will only look good FOR SOME SIGs, doesn't applies to all sigs. I had this sigs with Arial font and I think it look more decent compared to others fonts. And Cad, I've this feeling Visitor will suit in that sweet pink tifa sig. :) P.S: Is that Tifa anyway? lol. I've not tried PN, have only heard of it in few threads here and I don't think the work created from PN had impressed me compared to the work did in PS. Thanks Metroid for the siggy and dark_shadow for avvy! \:D/ :thumbsup: <3 wendy
