Fastest Way to Mine Iron / Coal?

Featured Replies

I've decided to go ahead and get my mining to 60 and get my smithing up a little as well. I will be mining 800 iron ore and 1600 coal. Where are the best spots to mine both of these ores? I'm looking for a mine with enough rocks to mine while at the same time, close to a bank. Thanks for any help I get.

iron, doesnt really matter, as it spawns so fast 2 rocks will do you fine. a good place is east of ardy, with lots of coal and iron, and not as crowded as alot of mines

Back by popular demand!

And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all.

I'd suggest the coal mines for coal.

And lucky enough to get 4 Dragon and 6 Barrow Drops.

The ultimate guide

Since you dont have 60 mining then mine coal at dwarfen dungeon, the one next to mining giuld. Its close to the falador east bank too.For iron, go south east of varrock and mine it there. The varrock east bank is really close.Okay once you have that then smelt the ores in either al kharid or falador furnace both really close to banks. Then once you have bars go to varrock and smith at the west smithing area south of the west bank and you will have Armor!! Go alch it and get 1200 gp for steel pl8s if your making those and have 55 magic.

That's all f2p and he's a member. I've heard of an easier method where you mine mith/coal in the dwarven mines, superheat it into bars, smith it at the anvils in the mine, and alch it and even gain money. That would be have one possiblilty if you have the lvls for a mith thing that is alchable.

But for the mining/banking iron/coal just stick with the member places above that we metioned.

east varrock is probably the best for iron.. you can make use of the 3 rocks at the top.

you can try the coal in the edgeville dungeon.. if you can stand the skeletons, dwarven mines are good too.

in east falador can i mine all 3 rocks from the same spot?

cuz i did tried and i could only get 2

wired?

if i mine the 1 in the middle it goes behind it

There are 3 types of people in the world. Those who can count and those who cannot.

f2p so i would say for coal go to lumby swamp lots of coal rocks (7 or 8 i think) but lots of people use them (at least in f2p)

Coal- Coal trucks

Iron- West of fally south of taverly, go to fally west bank and go south, climb the wall and go west. It is extremely close to a bank, closer than south varrock.

I once did a similar thing. I was going to mine 700 iron and 1400 coal to get my mining to 60 and my smithing to 50. The 700 iron wasnt that hard, I mined it at the Al Karid spot with 3 rocks all next to each other (thats what it takes if you have a rune pick!) This took me several hours. The coal took me several weeks. I probably wasnt doing it the best way  I mined it from the lumbridge swamps. It took me quite awhile. Fortunately, once my mining reached 59 i used a dwarf stout to get into the mining guild, and it flew on from there. But here is some advice: stock up on nature runes before you smelt anything. It took me several days to smelt all that stuff. Superheat makes it unbelievably faster. Of course, members probably have better mining spots LOL
