Ok, so heres the story.

 

 

 

I have a Geography teacher, she is also our P.E./Health Teacher. We currently have about 13 days left of school. She assigned us a Final project in each class. Not a bad thing right... wrong! Even with the BIG final project shes still handing out work to us, on average of about 2-3hrs a night. Heres the situation

 

 

 

Geography: %50 of our final grade.. *rolls eyes* :roll:

 

Final Project:

 

-Create TEN HAND-DRAWN maps of a selected country.

 

-write a 2pg. report for the country

 

-Make a Graphic

 

-Make a Table

 

Due Date = This Friday

 

 

 

Health:

 

Final Project:

 

-Interview someone in a health related career.

 

-----(I live in a small town.. there is very select few people)

 

-Write a 2pg. report on that career

 

Due Date: Already finished, i didnt do it.

 

 

 

+ Other homework..

 

 

 

Now you say blah blah.. put up with it. but i'd be happy to do this work. But she is STILL giving out tons of homework each night like i said. You may say.. just do it.

 

 

 

Thats not the case, she doesnt teach us the subject. She just hands up papers and hands us a book. nothing more. Shes overall a horrible teacher. She lets us do whatever we want. Cussing in class, hitting... anything! And shes a hypacrite* too.

 

 

 

One day she told us all we should be "considerate". Why doesnt she be considerate of our lvies and not give us 2-3hrs of homwork a day. We also have other classes and jobs outside of school. AND she doesnt even grade half of our papers. So i just decided to actually be considerate and not do my work so her lazy arse doesnt have to grade them.

 

 

 

If you asked ANY.. and i mean ANY one of my classmates what they thought of her. they would say she should be fired. Shes a horrible teacher.

 

 

 

Do you think its worth trying to get her fired?

 

She is just plain stupid.. i dont understand how she got her masters in teaching.. if she can get a masters in teaching i can get a masters in physiscs or something, and i suck at math.

I don't care how easy it is, they don't give you enough time to do it IMO. But I love projects.

Yea both of those projects sound easy enough to finish in 1 day. Seriously, I would be happy with a concrete easy project like that.

 

 

 

Here is a tip, just make up the interview. I always make up all the interviews i ever had to do for HS. That way you get to hear whatever you want to hear , its all good.

 

 

 

The country report seems like something for 6th grade, though i admit 10 hand drawing is defintely not neccessary, but its not like its that hard (trace them).

 

 

 

I mean i don't know about you, but seems very easy by my school standards (you don't have to write a 10 page research paper). Don't give up, just remember a couple of days and you will be free from school, just pull a few late nights if you have to.

I'm in Grade 10 too, and I'd be freakin happy if I have that as a final project that's worth 50-freakin-percent of my mark.

to answer your question, is it worth getting her fired? no, some friends and i tried to get our computer teacher fired, finally they said they would do something about it, turns out she came back this year. luckily i graduated. they wont fire a teacher very easily, its way to hard to do. id say just do the homework, its kind of a lot, but youll have a lot more in college.

the thing is we have a really nice, and good teacher they are fireing to and the teacher im complaining about is replacing her.

Yea its not worth trying to get her fired. Its near impossible because of teacher unions. When they fire somone they must usually have some concrete evidence of illegal activity. You might be able to make you school dump the teacher to some inner-city school, but that usualy won't happen too.

 

Do the best you can on the projects, and if you get points taken off for something no one in your class knew about, i would get your parent involved. You can't fire somone for being too hard though, trust me there are much worse teachers in my school. I just feel sorry for you having her for 2 subjects. Just do the projects though, they really are not too bad.

and do you live in an area where they get paid according to how well their students do? if you do, you could all decide not to do the homework, and the teacher wouldnt want to bring down her average so she may not take a grade on it though. thats a bit of a risk, if a few kids end up doing the project you are screwed, if she grades it anyways you are screwed, and if you dont live in a grades=money area then it wouldnt work at all. i really have no other advice though, i think you are pretty much screwed.

you get sever paiges of brainless copying, what takes you hours. and your test are reviewed, they give you worksheets with the questions on the test or better you get a pre test that you fill out in class and you can use it during the test.....or you just memorize, memorize memorize......

they are fireing her because they dont want to pay... $$

I say don't do the homework. It can't possibly count for very much at all and will save you a lot of time. Sounds pretty obvious to me :\.

This is a public school.. right?because if it is your gonna have one helluva time getting her fired.. also, do the project, but NOT the homework, she didn't give you enough time to do the project anyway, so focus everything you have on that. Also, if you have a teacher that is nice or really likes you try talking it over with them, they somethimes can help and get her to make the projects slightly easier...
