Note to mods: I realize most bugs should be reported rather than posted, but this isn't a bug that can be abused, rather it can be harmful to players. I understand why you might lock this should you decide to, but please consider the players that need to be warned of this.

 

 

 

I'm not sure if a thread regarding this has been posted yet, from what I can see there hasn't, but if there is already one I apologize.

 

 

 

Recently people have been being one-hit randomly. Just out of the blue, dead. I've noticed a couple people said this happened to them when they were fighting gargoyles, so stay away from gargoyles. My advice to you, bank all of your expensive items.

One of my friends made a joke saying this could be a new macro detection, they think you're a macro and you get one-hit. :roll:

 

 

 

In all seriousness though, let this be a warning until we get more information on this. If I find out anything else I will let you know.

Edit: I've also just heard someone say this happened to them while mining gems in Shilo Village. I've been hearing some people dying at Tears of Guthix.

I've been hearing the most deaths seem to occur at Tears of Guthix and at Gargoyles, so definitely want to stay away from those places if you're planning on wearing anything expensive.

 

 

 

I've also heard of some people getting some odd messages pop up on their screen when they are killed. :?

my friend on rs pmed me earlier saying he died standing in edgeville bank and lost 200k worth of stuff.. he said an invisible npc had killed him in one hit and then laughed ??

*quickly banks all cash and armour... goes cuts yews where she knows she wont lose too much if dies*

Yes, I mentioned at the end of my last post that people have been reportedly having strange messages pop up when they die... scary.

 

 

 

As for the person who asked if Jagex knew about this, yes people have been sending in Bug Reports so they should know about it soon if they don't already. There's also many threads about this on the RS forums.

it could be hackers, since the new engine might have some holes in it that the old one didnt, thus making weird things happen

Hackers, FBI, no one's really sure of the cause as of now. Although I'm pretty sure the FBI isn't to blame.

Heard about this on official forums... really weird I heard about it where people were at Tears Of Guthix and gargoyles :x people have lost a lot of stuff because of this. I hope this means rs hasn't been haxx0red :(

Hmm... I see, that's interesting. Although, what random event could they be working on that involves some random guy coming up to you, yelling some random message, and then randomly attacking you? o_O

As long as you don't go near gargoyles or Tears of Guthix (as that's where it's happening most often), you should be okay. Although you might want to leave those dragon chains and fire capes in the bank just as a precaution.

I wouldn't say that it doesn't happen in F2P worlds just yet. A friend of mine, yesterday or the day before, told me he was 1-hit whilst training on spiders or something like that. Bestsob, You might no who he was! His name had "D I Z" in it but I don't remember what his main was called. I'm still trying to figure it out.

Hm, I suppose it's a possibility.

The areas I've seen players mentioning so far are all members' areas. I could be wrong, of course.

 

I was thinking it might be a glitch caused by the new update; but if it happened to someone two days ago, I guess it's a different thing.

 

Whatever the glitch is, though, I'm pretty sure it will be taken care of soon enough.
