June 9, 200620 yr phpBB doesn't actually store your password in the database anyway. It uses an MD5 hash for this information. For those who don't know, MD5 is a non-reversible hashing algorithm. When you log in, the forum software hashes the password you just typed in and compares that to see if it the same as the hash in the database. If it is, you get in. To repeat, your password is never stored in the database, and you cannot reconstruct a password from an MD5 hash. I have an idea how this happened (I'm a professional software engineer by trade) but I'm not going to speculate here. I can, however, say in certainty that the database wasn't stolen. this is the second time i typed this :( but not in the same location, so your safe ;) A chinese student (wow.. lol) managed to solve MD5.

June 18, 200620 yr Ok, so did some PW's get leaked? Because i got hacked and nobody knows my pass its the most random thing ever...... :cry: . Also regaurding the account locking my RSN and my forums sn are the same my acc never got locked...?
June 18, 200620 yr Hi. Somehow ive got my account locked on RS. Ive gone to the "ulock an account" and its gone to the password recovery form. and so i fill in every field i can (90% of it cause i dont use worldpay for membership) It gets sent off and get decilned! I try it again and same! i repeat 4 times and the result is the same. Ive made a new account and tried to complain but no response. Ive emailed em by ([email protected], from their site) and no response! Could anyone help me? 3 days after i got locked POH's came out!!! :wall: :wall: Thanks!!
July 9, 200619 yr Samething has happend to me. My account was locked after I came back from school, but was working fine in the morning. I've sent in every bit of information that they have asked but still receive these automated messages which ask for the same/more information, RIGHT AFTER I have sent in the request!!!... It's very annoying! My account has been locked for about 11 days now. I sure hope my membership isn't running... :boohoo: Any tips and or advice on how I may be able to get it unlocked would truly be appreciated! Music is like candy. You enjoy it and throw away the wrappers.
