I have actually posted this on jagex's forums too...Thank you jagex...30 mins and my account was unlocked.

 

 

 

I couldn't remember all of my recovery answers so i said cant remember in the box provided, i did however manage to find my original serial numbers for when i became p2p also i provided info on exactly where i was standing the last time i logged out .

 

I was locked because i used the same name on here as there, but with a different p/word so that will lock up your account too. But now all sorted, i would suggest that people who are having problems should provide as much info as possible for jagex to to be happy that you are who you say you are :| :wall:

Im never used the same pass on any site as I do with runescape... Glad my Forum name is one space different from my RSN :)

I've finally got my account unlocked, but my computer loads the game very slowly. It doesn't get past the checking for updates part. :cry: I'm able to log in elsewhere, but I can't seem to get to the game. :cry: Any suggestions?

I was quoting hedgehog who was merely speculating that Jagex may have locked all accounts that have the same rs and tip.it names. Being one of those who's accounts is locked for the time being, I was wondering if I had been locked because of Jagex noting that my items were disappearing or if they automatically locked it because of the tip.it leak.

ya i was wondering, my pass got changed. I made that mistake but i have recovered my account, changed my pass to something completely diffrent and was pleased to find no harm done to my account

for all those who didn't have any reqovery questions set and are scared that they won't get their account unlocked:

you don't need to be desperate, if you provide as much information as you can and you will probably get it unlocked

If there is an issue with the phpBB software then I would like to know please. You will know that I run several forums myself and dont want to have my own sites compromised.

i tihnk th epeople that stole the account database should have there [bleep]ing amkles ripped off and sewn onto their elbows.

Can anybody help me? I tried two times, both times my unlock request was accepted but they just reset my questions and set the new password and my account stays locked.. What option do you guys choose on the unlock page?

That's no problem, I had the same and after three times thay gave me my account back. I have my account since 2003 so I really didn't want to loose it.

 

 

 

Hope you get it back. You can always pm me if you need help or something. Putting a question here is completly useless, they only like to yell insults it seems..

 

 

 

I used the 'someone knows my recovery answers the last time' just give them as much info as you can. there is a small box vor miscellanious info there.

One thing i didnt understand is, how do jagex know who used the same pass here and there? you sent them a copy of our passes?

 

 

 

This is my concern precisely. According to cameron, the password database is encrypted and can't be figured out except by brute force... but in that case, how would Jagex be able to know if we had the same password for both RS and for tip.it or not?

Exactly Mad, I dont like being kept in the dark about such a serious issue.
