Its kinda sad that people cry about only getting one update, especially since its the second biggest update ever... In rsc we got updates like ever few months and no one complained, you people dont know how lucky you are.
Jake_Corsair
Plus, the month isn't over yet. There's going to be typo's every now and then, and they have said that the chat filter still needs tweaking. To 123Yourgone, you're right. I think that if a perfect update came out, no problems whatsoever, people would complain that they have nothing to complain about. If Jagex ever made a perfect update, there would be players complaining about nothing to complain about.[hide=My Stats][/hide]
bobby1167
Yea,The monthly updates were smooth on RsC I feel that with all the people that now more idiots play, and they complain, causing other little kids to complain for the heck of it..Causing others to complain All Quests completed99 Thieving achieved on January 10th, 200899 Defense achieved on August 3rd, 200885 Slayer achieved on July 31st, 20086 Dragon boot drops, 14 Whip drops
Hedgehog64
Simply amazing... Jagex releases a brand new game engine, at the same time getting rid of autoers, allows Firefox and low detail users (that's me) to hear sound, quite possibly one of the biggest updates RuneScape has ever seen... and yet people still find some way to complain.
captianant
i've got to say, the update is pretty awesome! I have'nt heard sound without lagging out in a year or so lol  Sodb ForumStop thinking. It's Runescape.

2nd05013
Another mistake- music plays in low detail, so the resulting lag killed me when i attacked dessous   Moopy rules!!!
Jake_Corsair
You can turn music off, either in the tools menu in game, or by muting the midi/synth volume on your systems sound controls. Personally, I've been running better in low detail WITH sounds/music since the update. Less lost connections and running back and forth. Unless you are connecting directly too Jagex to play the game, then lag might be from another source between you and them. But of course it's easier to bash Jagex than accept that their might be a router in between that's having problems. If Jagex ever made a perfect update, there would be players complaining about nothing to complain about.[hide=My Stats][/hide]
SLOWSTORM
I daresay Dessous killed you all by himself, he doesn't need any help :D I find there to be less lag after the new engine, though, and I'm loving it! When you are learning, you are growing. If you stop learning, you stop growing. If you stop growing, you die. Train hard, eat fried chicken, and take a one-a-day. attackyomom
i thought this month update was great the wise old man quest was one of my favorites and the server update reduced lag on world 2 for me like crazy it was amazing last month i w ould go on world 2 within 10 minutes i would lose connection now i dont lose connection ever and for people dying at desert treasure i did it last week or maybe two weeks ago i dont understand how ppl could die unless they lagged out or were stupid and didn't pray like on shadow guy forgot his name everyone made him seem amazingly hard when he wasnt really hard jus had to drinka a dose of ppot every few seconds to keep pray up
Looce
In this update Jagex made quite a lot of optimisations, including separating music from the gameplay using a Thread (Which is why they can call up multiprocessing on dual-CPU computers). I would assume they use smaller and faster data structures to hold the display elements that you see, too. And many other small improvements under the hood. What you see from this update, though, is that the game runs more smoothly. Which I like! :D And also that we have sound in Firefox, and that setting the music volume in RuneScape doesn't set my global MIDI volume to 100% (i.e. 12x louder than I have it normally). Having some dumb music blare in your ears until you can login is not fun... after that, your account's preferences load and your music volume goes to what you set in RuneScape. All_Bogs
The volume thing is nice, I hadn't noticed that yet. Might mean midi is going to be unmuted for the first time since rs2 came out :P
cardovilian
If you look just to the right of the phrase 'Runescape Questhelp' you will notice the word 'Beta'. In software development, this word means basically, 'this is how its going so far, we dont intend this to be the final finished product, but we'd appreciate it if some seasoned users would have a look and tell us if you find any bugs/errors/etc.' Thus you WILL find errors/bugs in a 'Beta', that's why you are being allowed to see it. Just tell Jagex what you have found. Then, when they release it as a finished product, there will be no need for endless posts on forums (official or otherwise) about 'mistakes' that have been found along the lines of 'Look what I've spotted' just after thirty other people have posted the same thing - or at least that was the idea. Why is 'common sense' so named, when there is so little of it about?Welcome to puberty, we've been expecting you.

Spoiled or not, they're all greedy, selfish, no-lifing "noobs." It's impossible to get something prefect, and they flame Jagex for not perfecting the game they live for. Toad
Main reason for lag is BT in the uk with there Max DSL Program and its annoying my connection has gone from 2 meg Stable to 8 meg (1meg stable) so its halved!!!!!
