Practice using shapes to create shading, upping your contrasting and pushing your lights and darks, and using less dark outlines. Try to rely on contrasting shades to display a figure in 3 dimensions. Just what I would do.

May 23, 200620 yr erm, neat monster there but the shading isnt to great it looks like you used one type of lead for the whole image. also i would suggest you avoid the bold outlines a little.

Just what I would do. it's my style.. if i was like you well i'd well not have my own style it's pencil unless you want me to put pink in or something this is what you do i asked you to show some of your shaded work so show me cos i want to know what you do ty :)

May 23, 200620 yr There are a couple of ways to do what Gs is saying. 1. Smooth shading: Ideally you want less line than these have. 2. Crosshatching: In either case the goal is to think in patches of dark and light rather than simple lines. Think of it as painting with a pencil.
