gonpost
I decided to keep track of how much exp and money I was spending per hour...so I did a small study, and some simple math. I'm assuming: -50 Construction -Demon Butler -Using Oak LOGS (not starting with planks) -Constructing carved oak tables (6 planks per) -Having 24 open inven spaces to work with (4 spaces for cash, hammer, saw, and noted logs) And Using the following method: -Use noted logs with butler to get logs. -Use logs with butler to get planks. -Build 3 carved oak tables, then tell butler to get 24 more logs. -Quickly build 1 more table. -Take logs from butler. -Get planks from buter. -You get the idea, keep going. So, assuming that method is used (which is pretty good), I aquired the following statistics. After 30 mins: 46,080 experience gained 208k gp spent in changing logs to planks and paying butler 192k gp spent in logs (if you buy your oak logs for 250 per) This translates to: 92,160 exp per hour gained 800k net gp spent per hour So yeah...it's expensive. If I start where I am now and decide to go to 80 construction...it'll cost me 15.8 mil gp and take me about 20 hours. Just some numbers for you all...with some basic math you can adjust these numbers to fit different types of logs. Happy building! :D Runescape Name: "unbug07"Expand your mind. imaerehw14
This is exactly why i am not building my own house. If anything, i am going to put 3 chairs in my 2 rooms i have built so far (ive spent 3k cash on my house total. 1 parlor, 1 garder, and 1kcash to start out my building plot.) I dont like wasting money on something i dont think is worthy. i am also a pretty big penny pincher. i doubt i will buy any logs, or use any services to build my house. it will be all by my self and not 800k an hour for logs and a butler. :? boozhoochief
Dang, sounds like people with a lot of cashola could easily buy there way up to 99. hmm, if your calculations are correct, then probably around 80mil or 100mil for 99 construction and 3 to 4 days tops. You are right, yes. I could get all the logs and run myself. But who knows, that might take me 3-4 times as long. And I'm not saying this for everyone...but I can make 300k+ per hour easy, so it's not worth my time to actually do things the hard way. However, for the vast majority of runescape, you are likely correct... Runescape Name: "unbug07"Expand your mind.
TWIKK89
i think its totally worth it! you know why? because when scammed off your password and you get it back, you still have your house... that and also it's worthless to everyone else, and no one can really acquire your house. The party hats aren't worth as much as houses :D woot! Sorry for the off-topicness, but is that the god for Pastafarians? Rebdragon
maybe they might add a feature where u can sell ur house.. so it might have some value in the future Dear God, if they ever do that... If you've learned ANYTHING from the history of this game you'd know how horrible that idea is. Jimmy_Kak
Its gona be very expensive. If you cut your own logs it will cost around 55 mil to get to 99 (thats using willow logs) . You will also get 99 woodcutting in the process. This is just the cost of trading the wood for planks. It doesnt even take into account the butlers fee currently smithing
E_D_G_E_1039
Or you can cut your own oaks, which takes little to no time... (It doesnt slow ya down that much.. I hit 57 last night, cutting my own logs all the way).
NukeMarine
It's a way to spend money that you can have a bit of control over. You use one method to advance (oak log planks are the way to go) Then, the fun part. At your level (I'm gonna goto 70, with 2.5 million for planking), build the house you want. Jagex does not care if you buy your way to level 99, you're SUPPOSED to buy your way to level 99. Either that, or wallow away at 8k xp an hour making decorative rocks. I will put the nicest things in my house, which itself will be 3 seperate complexes (Main House, Study/Portal, Construction).
