shannon
Hurray for the Heats! Another victory...that was real, real close. HEAT Take Finals Lead In OT Thriller Miami is only one win away from its first NBA Championship after Dwyane Wade's two free throws with 1.9 seconds to go in overtime lifted the HEAT to a 101-100 win over the Mavericks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. Miami heads to Dallas up 3-2 for Game 6 on Tuesday (9 p.m., ABC). Heats are only one step away from winning the championship... Wade is truly amazing, i think he will lead the team to victory in Game 6. \ Miami Heat 4ever fan.Yes, i'm a girl! azntemplar_00
Ugh, I stayed up till 12:30 watching the game last night/morning only to see Josh Howard throw away their last timeout. He had a great game but he'll only be remembered for what he did in OT. Wade was incredible in the 4th again. BenBru
This is really starting to tick me off. All you heat fans out there I believe are really just riding the bandwagon. All my friends always wanted the Lakers, and now its Miami. They all ride the bandwagon and I believe you people do too. You failed to mention the fact that you cant even look at Wade without getting called for a foul. This is rediculous. Anyone who listens to 1080 the fan and heard Reggie Miller talk about how Wade does get alot of the calls that Jordan got. Its freakin' rediculous man, at that point in the game you shouldnt let the game be decided by one little picky call. If you want to play that way then atleast call the fouls against Miami when Haslem and Posey have their hands all over Nowitzki. You honestly think that a superstar such as Dirk can just have an off game five times in a row without there being something wrong? Miami is just playing good old Pat Riley New York Knicks basketball where you can handcheck people and play rough. And the league is letting it happen. There is no system for checks and balances as there is in games such as football and baseball. Football - you have instant replays and you can challenge plays. Baseball - there is a specific official for each part of the field. Basketball - All the refs and usually biased against someone almost always resulting in them officiating the game differently. When you look at basketball, there is always a question mark next to the officiating for each game. It really is pathetic that Wade can get all those calls when he RUNS INTO PEOPLE. Anyone see that part where on the inbound Josh Howard was standing next to a Heat player when all the sudden Wade busts his way through and flails his arms resulting in them calling a foul. And many many many more times Wade did stupid things like running into people and just acting like they hammered him. Yes he is an amazing player but in no way should he be able to get those kinds of calls. Atleast when LeBron plays he goes to the rim and earns those calls. With Wade you cant even look at him without getting called for a foul. He gets too much credit. In my eyes he had a bad game, yet he managed to score 40 something points because he made 21 free throws. I look for Dirk to do some flopping such as Wade did and hopefully they will call it. As Avery put it. "Anyone who has been in the league for 20 to 30 years would know we wanted that timeout after the second free throw. We were dumbfounded." Every team that I want to win always gets bsed in someway. I wanted Phoenix to beat Dallas. So Dallas gets all the calls and wins. I want Dallas to beat Miami. Miami gets all the calls and will probably win the series. All of you people who are Heat fans all the sudden are just riding the band wagon because everyone else is a Heat fan. It was the same with Chicago back when they had Michael. I am an Atheist, and I take pride in it.
zerosouls
God your dumb. Maybe for some people but i've been a heat fan since the 04-05 season when shaq left the Lakers to the Heat, did they win anything? No, am i still a heat fan? Damn F'n rights. Maybe some people are "riding the band wagon" but i'm not, i was a Lakers fan and still am, i love Kobe and think he's the best player i've ever seen. Now when it comes to Dwade he's not the best...yet..but he is one of the best and i think he's better than Lebron but i still respect him i just don't like him, i can rant on him all day if i wanted to but i have respect for him so i'm not going to do that. Dwade has had some calls going his way but come on who the hell hasn't? Jordon did, Lebron does, Kobe does, everyone does they're called superstar calls. Everyone will admit that he WAS fouled when he drove to the hoop against like 3-4 Mavs, and heres why: A). Harris put his knee out when Wade was still driving, thats a foul B) Dirk has his hands on his back, thats a foul and finally C) Harris hacked him on the way up. There you have it, it could have gone with any three but there was a foul, even Hubie said so. One last thing i haven't seen ANYONE jump on a "heat band wagon" in fact most people actually hate the heat, so before you go around yapping your big mouth maybe you should think a little more, your brain deserves the exercise. There's no I in team which is why Lakers didn't win. Because he simply is the best, thats all i need to say for most basketball fans because we all know it. And yes he is a great team player, during the suns series he didn't put on any shows, he passed the ball and got his team mates in the game. And most of the time what the hells is he going to do? Have you watched a Lakers game? Most of the time the other players suck, they can't make shots or don't run the plays right.

stealthman8
I seriously dont know how the Heat won three in a row, Mavs are a much better team. With Terrys quickness, Jason Williams and Wade are getting tired the whole game. Then whenever Terry takes a brake Devin Harris is also making them run alot. As for Josh Howard vs Walker, Howard is the X-Factor of this game, if he makes his shots then there winning the game. Dirk has been playing awful in the past 3 games, and Diop has been playing good defence against Shaq. 75/80 Hitpoints | 81/85 Strength | 1/1 Pray | 1/1 Defense [Make Me Rich!] | [Brutal Ownage]

zerosouls
For all of you guys who say Kobe isn't a team player, then you really don't watch Laker games or know whats going on outside of watching a TV. What most of you probably do not know about is their offensive system: The Triangle Offense. It's one of the most complex systems in basketball and it takes years to get down pat so everyone contributes in a balance. All Phil Jackson teams have ran this. Now, Kobe was in the triangle offense with the 3-peat team and he, Devean George, and Luke Walton are the only players who know the system. And, Luke was a rookie when Phil was in his last year with the Lakers. Now that he's back, he's got to teach a bunch of D-League (Smush Parker) and underachieving (Chris Mihm, Kwame Brown, Lamar Odom) players. Now, Lamar is a good player and can be an effective player, possibly an All-Star when he gets the offense down pat. He showed signs at the end of the season. Now, Kobe does not like to lose and wasn't going to sit through 3 quarters of a season waiting for his team to click. Phil told him at the start of the season that he was going to be carrying the load most of the season until the offense finally got going. As you see at the end of the year everybody understood the offense alot more then they did in December. So now that everything is clicking, Kobe turns to a mode in which he can pick his spots but pass the ball because his teamates have confidence, and are running the offense fluidly. You see the success they had winning the last 5 games of the regular season and pushing the Phoenix Suns to the bring of elimination. Now, for the person who said that Kobe wasn't the best. How is he not? This year, 5th in MVP voting (was robbed in that category because of the media hating him), 1st team ALL DEFENSE, and first team all NBA. Lead the league in scoring while taking the Lakers to a 45 win season and that was thought out of the question by most sports writers and analysts at the start of the season. You really think anyone in the NBA could do that? I don't think so. Kobe has the best work ethic in the NBA, the most desire to be the best and to win another Championship. Kobe can do it in all categories of the game. 3 Point Shooting, Defense, Offense, FT line, Clutch shots, everything. His passing aswell, he averaged 6.0 assists in 04-05. He averaged 29 points, 7 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 2 steals, and almost a block in the playoffs. Who is better? Who else has a will to win like Kobe? No-one. That's why Kobe is the best player to ever play this game.
azntemplar_00
Who is better? Who else has a will to win like Kobe? No-one. That's why Kobe is the best player to ever play this game. Wasn't there some guy in the 80s - 90s who did alot of stuff and won a couple rings? His name was like... Mike Johnson? No... hold on a sec. Aha! Michael Jordan. What about him? Look, just because I said Kobe's not the best doesn't mean he's some third string guy that no-one's heard about. What I was trying to say was that there is no best player. There are many that are among the best, but I don't think it's possible to name one guy who's the best. It's always debatable. pianofrieak2
95-92. The Mavericks lost. Dang...and I was really hoping they'd pull it off. Oh, well. They played pretty terrible though. It's true, the refs were totally against them in the first half but by the end of the 3rd, they actually got normal. Imagine that. Normal refs when Dallas plays. Too bad it was for 1 quarter. In my opinion, the Heat deserved to win. Mavericks sucked. Totally. I'm just really discouraged because they had the best SEASON. And about the whole Kobe thing: I'll grant that he's one of the best, but Wade and LeBron and up there too. It's just that Kobe's a veteran player while Wade and LeBron are just now entering upon the scene. I'm currently transitioning from a Wizard to a Mage and a Priest to an Archpriest. Lol both are nonexistant in the top 25. Hopefully I can change that. :D
shannon
Yeahh!! Heat won the championship!! Let's celebrate!! Woohooooo!!! lol. \ :-w Congrats to wade, Finals MVP. Well done! =D> Wade does it again, leading Heat to world title By TIM REYNOLDS, AP Sports Writer June 21, 2006 DALLAS (AP) -- Dwyane Wade grabbed the season's last rebound, throwing the ball high in the air as the clock ran out. And with that, he let out a long scream, a shout of delight. It was over. The Miami Heat were world champions. "Man, it's one of the best feelings, next to my wife and my son, that I've ever had in my whole life," Wade said. With a 36-point night, Wade led the Heat to a 95-92 win over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 6 of his first title series. The Heat lost the first two games, then won the next four, riding Wade every step of the way. "This team was built for this. This team was built for the playoffs," Wade said. "Not at one moment did one of us not believe in each other." Shaquille O'Neal grabbed and hugged him. Heat owner Micky Arison wrapped his arms around him. And Wade simply raised one finger high. He was the finals MVP, the best player in the playoffs, on the NBA's best team. "Wade is the best player ever," O'Neal said before the trophy ceremony. Let the comparisons to you-know-who continue. "Dwyane has told me that he would not like me to speak of him in context with Michael Jordan anymore, out of respect of him," coach Pat Riley said Tuesday, about eight hours before tipoff. "He's a pretty good player himself. I think it's time for Dwyane to take on his own persona." There are obvious parallels -- like how both Jordan and Wade both can make taking over a game look effortless. Dallas jumped out to a 26-12 lead after nine minutes of Game 6; no surprise, since the Mavs were playing for their season and were boosted by a positively raucous environment in their home arena. But the Heat had no reason to panic. Wade hadn't starting scoring yet. His first basket came with 1:59 left in the first quarter. His second was a jumper over Jason Terry, who fouled Wade on the play. By quarter's end, Wade had seven points, the Heat were within seven points, and the arena began to quiet down. In the second, Wade started what became an 18-6 run by the Heat with a jumper that started Miami's rally back from an 11-point deficit. Then in the third quarter, with the game tied at 53, Wade blocked Josh Howard's layup with 9:43 left. That sparked a 6-0 Miami run that bought the Heat a little more breathing room. And in the fourth, with Miami clinging to a three-point lead, Wade still had all the right moves. At one point, he had three Dallas defenders around him and the two others watching as he dribbled on the right wing. No one -- except Wade, that is -- noticed James Posey standing alone in the corner. Just like an MVP would, Wade tossed him the ball, and Posey hit a 3-pointer. "This is a team award," Wade said as he was handed the MVP trophy, "like it's a team championship." In his 98th game of a grueling, trying season where the Heat switched personnel, switched coaches and were perceived as not good enough to win it all -- some doubters even picked Chicago over Miami in the first round -- there was enough spring in his step to deliver 10 rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocks. His game is complete. So, too, is his resume. "When you're playing for a championship," Wade said before the game, "that's all you need." Moments before tipoff, amid deafening noise, Wade stood alone in front of the Heat bench, stretching. O'Neal leaned in for a quick word, and Wade nodded approval to whatever Shaq whispered. "I knew the first time I saw him, he was something special," O'Neal said. O'Neal has incessantly referred to Wade as "my favorite pupil." School's out for summer now, though. Wade just graduated. At 24, he's atop the basketball world. "That's what these events do," Riley said. "They make genuine stars out of some players." I edited my first post. :P Miami Heat 4ever fan.Yes, i'm a girl!
