Yeah, I've been around. Had an account on tip.it with my real rsn but I have lost it (rune---thug).

I come from an old breed of pures that will never be forgotten, or at least I hope not.

@Arsenes: I remember the name, never actually met him.

While we're on the subject, has anyone seen:

Stinger X12

Dimebagdanny

Messiah 20 & 18

Rattsabre

Sexy Razor

Atlantian

sexy razor got banned cuz the name, i knew him, shame. probably started a new account, but was never contacted.

fake vet? actually i was Qwazydogg, and no i wasnt fake i made No1_Stunna when i got banned for being accused of duping way back.

Yes Runite was originally purple when jagex thought of the idea of bringing in a new armor besides addy.

NO, no one ever had a purple peice because they changed it before it came out to the color cyan, the only person to ever have a piece was mod ian and maybe the rest of the gowers.

and ps, No1_Stunna has been around since 2001 or 2002 iv played this game since there was 1 server and the best shield was made from steel. I was around when twy and Bluerose13x along with a few others made mith squares and kites...and so forth

lol so long ago, but i remeber the rocks didnt have a color and you hasd to examine them to see what they were, and if you were not high enough lvl than you couldnt examine the rock. (I think) but the hot spot for coal where I always mined was barb village boyyy. sold coal for 100 gp each!

and umm i think you had 3 options prospect rock examine rock and mine rock? dont remeber that far back lol.

The earliest mining sequence I recall remembering is to Use pickaxe, with --> rock. If fail, repeat. If successful, repeat. One pick type, one swing per click. And try not to die in the process due to the map-wide player-killing. Or carry a big sword...of course, that would take up an inventory space you could otherwise use for an ore/coal.

I remember choosing Miner for my character at the type selection prompt...Still holds true to this day. Mining is still my highest stat (Granted, I've logged in maybe 100 hours of gameplay in two years - a decent sum of that the past week.)

I still remember the line to infinity to talk to whatshisface (NPCs only being able to talk to one player at a time back then) for the Dragon Quest/to buy the Rune plate.

I can't remember how it was back then, but that doesn't mean I didn't play. I was like 12 years old and I had better things on my mind (girls).

Anyway, I remember when lumbridge was a safe spot, varrock was sort of because of the guards that would attack anyone that attacked another player. Also! The option to switch from Non-pk to pk, was awesome!

At one point people started making lower level pkers that were pure, and pking around lumbridge off of the cabbage there.

I do remember when gems first came out although I can't remember exactly how the system went. I think there were gem rocks at first?

The banks. That was crazy, you could only store gp in there. Also -> Karamja was a major fun spot to be. Fishing and pking, on the old dock.

The other main pk spot that I can remember was "Cooks". If I recall right the Varrock teleport brought you right out in front of the cooks guild. People would go there and run into the cooks, going out the backdoor to get away from people.

For some reason I remember rapidly clicking on the rocks. Mining and fishing was not automated, you had to manually keep clicking. Right?

At first (where the term pile-jumper really came from): Someone would get a kill in varrock. Everyone would pile up on top of the person so that he could not grab the items. See, this was before they implemented the system they have nowadays that makes it so only you can see your loot for a certain allotted time. Everyone was free to grab anything as soon as you got the kill.

Oh, how I loathe getting older...:(

Edit: And the favorite training spot of old greats such as Alchemon, Trixstar(I think), Moon...mage? was..Ice Giants/Warriors in the dungeon where you get Blurite. Can't remember the name.

What was that one spell that we use to have..you could use it on a monster and it would switch attack to you? Either that or run away, I can't remember exactly.

I remember walkin around with just an addy plate (Cuz 40k was a lot and if u had an addy plate, u rarely could afford much else) seeing Paul with a rune helmet, it was an ugly color of purple, i thought anyway.

This is official news from Andrew

23rd-September - Dragon quest online!

Think you've got what it takes to slay a dragon? If so try our new quest!

This quest has been designed with the more experienced runescape players in mind so it's fairly tricky. To start the quest go and talk to the guildmaster in the champions guild. From there you will have to solve a series of puzzles before travelling to slay the dragon itself. Only heros who have proven themselves worthy by completing this quest can purchase and wear the best armour in the game. The new rune platemail body!

A few days before members came out:

Due to much demand we are planning on launching a new premium RuneScape service soon. This will bring a whole load of great benefits such as: frequent updates, NO-adverts, good customer support, no scammers/cheaters (we'll kick 'em out), and much more! We're hoping to make it available for just $5 a month, and this tiny amount of money will pay for many great RuneScape updates to come, and will ensure we can keep running RuneScape for YOU.

This is great news, because it will enable us to offer you more frequent RuneScape updates. Some of the first updates we have planned include: A duelling system, more monsters (wolf, giant-bat, lizard-man etc..), lots of new items, sound effects, more quests, and there will be loads more stuff after this.

We hope that many people will be able to afford the very small amount we are asking, if you really really can't afford to pay then don't worry, because there will still be a FREE RuneScape service available. Obviously since this service will be offered for free, we won't be able to keep offering regular updates to non-paying members. In actual fact running the free service will cost us a lot of money but we want to thank all the people who have helped us beta-test the game so far, and so will try keep it going as long as possible.

Thanks for all your support.
