But the reason why RS has such a negative stigma even, or should I say especially, in the gaming community is for a variety of reasons. 1. Jagex advertises that this game is for everybody regardless of age. Look at the fascist censor, for example. This leads to people believing that this is a kids game. 2. The amount of grinding contained within. Every MMORPG and almost every RPG has some grinding. But Runescape holds the title for grindiest game of the year for seven years running. 3. The graphics. Oh, I know about the huge update and I admit that Runescape has never looked better. But compared to other modern games? Not so good. And anyone who doesn't play won't know that the graphics have improved. 4. The leveling system. As others have said, the leveling system requires no skill or talent. Just clicking. Click, click, click. 5. Combat. Runescape has one of the worst combat systems I've ever seen. Everything is about preparation and what you bring. Experience and "skill" have minimal jurisdiction. 6. Customer Support, or the lack thereof. Jagex provides us with customer support only slightly better than the IRS and slightly worse than a group of trained chimpanzees. 7. The maturity. Need I go further? And 8., the lack of a free, player governed, market. This may not matter to a lot of people, but to us poindexters, it means a lot. And that is why RS has a negative stereotype. Described perfectly, those are all the reasons why its so harshly criticized amongst the gaming community as a whole and not taken seriously by hardcore gamers.

Well RS certainly does not hold much water in the general gamer community. On nearly all gaming forums I have browsed all RS topics are criticized very harshly. I have not played RS in a long time so maybe times have changed, but i quit because most of the players that I encountered (And many on this site as well) have this elitist attitude that is based solely on their own ignorance about MMO's. A big reason why RS isnt as good as other MMO's out there is because of the lack of skill required, anyone can get a skill to 99 with enough clicks..... That is my stereotype against RS and since this is a topic about RUNESCAPE stereotypes im fully within my jurisdiction to say this ;)

Use a different password....... If your dumb enough to use the same password when they know your username, then you deserve to have your account stolen. They dont try to steal your accounts, its your own ignorance that would allow it, none of them require you to use the same password. Just be smart, thats the problem with people these days, everyone is dumb.

personally, i dont think consumers should have to "cope" with a change in a product they pay for.

used to be that "naughty" words were replaced with other words. you couldnt even speak coherently in towns because every other word was replaced with another word.

Its not pot that makes the person travel down the slippery slope of failure, its all the persons choice, if it was addictive it would be a different story, but its not physically addictive. It can become mentaly addictive if the person is weak minded enough, but then they shouldnt be doing anything like that anyway.

Because we know that destroying the Wilderness, while A solution, was not THE solution, and could have been implemented without hurting PKers had it been given more thought. So I believe that there is some kind of other reason for removing the Wilderness that Jagex has not been telling us about. Stop trying to find something out of nothing. Jagex made a mistake- they didn't mean to make their players unhappy, what good business would? You can't blame them for not being able to see into the future. What did they think was gonna happen? "Lets take away the wilderness, noone will care" This was an easily forseeable circumstance, hell even an autistic chimp could have had enough forsight to know these actions would piss people off

Idk about the rest of you, but these RWTers and Scammers they are talking about, never really affected me. They say they are helping the players, but they are trying to help themselves and killing the game, that once shined bright, in the process

yeah, and high level alchemy doesnt bring inflation at all RWT's just transfered the money. id say a majority of the extra money that causes the ever-shrinking gp is high level alchemy im glad to see jagex do this, any company stupid enough to try and fight something in a way that ruins aspects of its product that a good ammount of people enjoy, doesnt deserve a company.....

I agree with you completely, rs2 is too easy, with all these *do X* options, they are making things too easy, the protect from melee/mage/range spells? what a joke, they take all the skill away from the game. I miss rsc, back when 100k was a lot and anything over 1m was pretty much unheard of. [/img]

i think its funny that whenever theres an update people always ask if it will affect the rares. if you cant obtain the item anymore, then the ammount of them can only go down, thus the price can only go up. it may go down temporarily, but the item cant be replaced so the prices will go back up, NOW QUIT ASKING use your fricken brains

i kinda hope jagex does go under, if they are stupid enough to do this sort of they, they dont deserve to control a company. They need to place the regular players over the gold sellers/buyers, or else the real players will get sick of it and find a better gamecough wow cough

uptight this forum is, if you admit you have broken a rule like giving money to an alt character, the whole community tries to reem you. its ridiculous, cant you be more relaxed and let things slide. Stop taking runescape so seriously and get life's if you get so butthurt over someone breaking a rule in an online game, you need to go outside and hangout with a friend. and for those of you who say you have a life outside RS, stop lieing,if you have a life outside RS you wouldnt be getting so butthurt over this stuff. and another thing, i hate how many freaking subsections there are, like right now im probably posting this in the wrong section, even though im ranting in the ranting forum, im not breaking any rules of this forum, hell im not even breaking any rules in runescape because i dont play it anymore, yet this will probably be locked because the mods dont like what im saying.
