Promise
I'm sure if you do PC often, your always looking to do it the quickest, most efficient way. The best way it to join the highest level pc clan you can. If you like me, will always give world 144 to look for people advertising for their clans or you can give the RSOF a quick visit to look for a clan. But now, I think people are trying to abuse this way of PCing and take advantage of high level players. I've been asked quiet frequently to join their clans when I'm looking for a 110+ world. But when I tell them I'd like to join, they tell me to sign up on a site. This is where I become doubtful that this is a legit clan. A lot of people use one password for all their accounts, despite the constant warnings. This is where players are taken advantage of and if they sign up, they've pretty much lost their account. Some tips to avoid being scammed. ~Because a player is lvl 132, it doesn't mean their honest. ~NEVER use your Runescape on any other site. ~If the person telling you about the site seems pushy in any way, such as telling you to keep looking for the site if you can't find it, just don't resond to them. The reason for this post is to help raise the awareness of this problem. Feel free to discus and help think of any ways to avoid being scammed this way. While I agree that you should never use your RS password for anything else than runescape, I can assure you this is not a scam either 99% of the time. #1) For example, The clan I'm in requires you to apply on our clan forum with your Runescape Name. I know many clans require the same because its easier to keep track of people that way. So honestly, a clan requesting you to apply with your username dosent necessarly mean its a scam. #2) If they are using a forum such as invisionfree or some free forum like that, they CANNOT even look at the password you applied with. This dosent mean its safe to use your runescape password, but keep in mind any password you use they cannot see what it is. Custom forums like Tipits are a little different, but most clans dont have custom forums like tipit. #3) I know when recruiting people, sometimes the website is kinda hard to find and recruiters can be a bit pushy on trying to get you to find the site. This is also not necessarly a sign of scamming. Overall, i think your just thinking to hard in the matter. Above all never use your runescape PASSWORD as another password. However I can tell you alot of the clans out there will require you to sign up with your RSN. So dont freak out when they ask you this, its not ushally leading to a scam. As long as you dont use your Runescape password, having your RSN means nothing to them. They could easily look down a tipit member list and find a random RSN. As long as you dont use your runescape password and never give any hints to it, you are 100% safe.

Will H
I would never assume that nobody can see the password, it's extremely foolish to enter in your Runescape password anywhere else but runescape.com or funorb.com. I don't think you can call them scam sites since they do not require you to enter your RS password. You're just asking for it if you do. ~ W ~
WildxYak
Then just use a different password for RS and a different one for fansites and clan forums and such. Then even if it is a scam they don't have your RS one. 99: Agility 28/12/14|Thieving 20/03/
Latinoking
It's common sense that RS/Funorb should have a way different pass then sites you regularly visit. I know of some forums who have tried to use what people enter as passwords to "hack" into their accounts. Shame on them. phatpete
Don't think people with a high level character(they are wanted in PC clans) are stupid enough to give his password to a strong looking website. And in my opinion: most of the clans have good intensions, so in general I would be surprised by "clans" who would scam their members. I don't say your thinkings aren't possible but there only is a little chance that they have the intensions to steal your pw.

willysp
Use a different password....... If your dumb enough to use the same password when they know your username, then you deserve to have your account stolen. They dont try to steal your accounts, its your own ignorance that would allow it, none of them require you to use the same password. Just be smart, thats the problem with people these days, everyone is dumb. My WoW character, gnome warlock Saldomar
highlanders
Most PC clans have their own forums, the serious ones anyway. There's nothing suspicious about them asking you to sign up on their website, that's just how it works. Just use common sense though. Sign up for a clan that has a reputation and use a different password than for your Rs accounts. 2480+ total

Great_one
well there is one thing that i dont get. if they tell you to go to another site and sign up how does that make you feel like they are more likely not an actual clan the majority of clans have there own site. its almost imposable to run a clan off the rsof :|
